This will just keep making abominations until we destroy it.

The obelisk looks mostly destroyed already, only the bottom half remains, and pieces and chunks lay scattered across the floor around its base. When you all first came down here you found the kobolds busy picking away at the obelisk, gathering the larger pieces of obsidian for unknown means.

No magic can be detected emanating from the broken obelisk.

Other iconography in the room, chiseled onto the walls and remains of statuary, depict dwarves in chains and the act of toil, indicating the presence of Kamus worship, but Kamus has no direct association with the undead.

Some other force must account for the presence of undead in these halls.

Moving through the halls, first west toward the barracks, then north, you pass through the mess hall. A few kobold corpses remain here where you left them, although not as many as before. It seems some have got up and walked away.

You pass the ossuary and head east, then a quick turn north brings you back to the chained doors.

The doors are chained shut from the outside. There's a simple lock holding the chains in place.

3 successes at a DC 20 Thievery check for the lock. Or, you can try breaking the chains.

Waedin opts for force, while Stepnik tries finesse. In the end, Stepnik's approach wins out. With a final click of the tumblers, he's able to open the lock, remove the chains, and open the doors.

Within you are met with the smell of death and rot. Two large stone blocks rest on either side of this room. Large rusty hooks hang over small channels in the stone floor, leading to old drains choked with refuse. Rotten remnants of a corpse lie strewn across one of the blocks in grotesque display.

In the rear of the room are two holding pens. Within one lounge four dwarven ghouls who turn famished eyes towards you as the doors open. Long purple tongues hang from their salivating mouths as they are roused by their hunger for living flesh.

The famished dwarven ghouls begin filing out the open door of the holding cell.

Stepnik shakes another vial, activating it into a white effervescence. He then lobs it at the remaining Ghoul.
