Anyone have a cash to quanity system.

I was just musing on the whole 22.5k GP of crushed diamonds and how you could go somewhere they were common and used as glass is today buy a bunch for 2k go somewhere they were extremely rare and cast a spell with your 22.5k diamonds and still have 90k or so left. Anyway I was just wondering had converted the rulebook XGP of Item to Xlbs of Item for spells. Obviously not all but a general conversion method or is there nothing like that out there?

Grand Lodge

As you can see here such a system would be of rather little value.

Apprentice: Master I talked the merchant down to 400 gold pieces for the rubies!

Master: That's great but the spell calls for 500 gold pieces worth. Go back in and buy some more.

Hmmmm so if I offered a merchant 500GP for one ruby it'd work for the spell even if no one else would pay more than 5 coppers?
