Box of Rare Coins (370 gp):
The size and shape of a book, this unremarkable wooden box contains 37 gold coins packaged in layers of purple velvet. A close inspection reveals that each of the battered coins displays images of a different aristocrat. A DC 15 Knowledge check (history or nobility) reveals that none of the figures depicted on the coins is of note, though their clothing is clearly several centuries out of date. A DC 15 Appraise check reveals that these particular coins are rare, each being worth ten normal gold pieces.

Sir Wendelton’s Armor (20,750 gp):
The original suit of Sir Wendelton’s armor takes its name from the aristocrat that commissioned its construction. Sir Wendelton was known for bullying the weak while actively avoiding those stronger than himself. He died fleeing a duel after harassing the wrong adventurer’s younger sister, at which point his dying personality became imprinted upon his magic armor, granting it sentience.

Suits of armor with similar personalities have been crafted over the centuries, but only the original identifies itself as Sir Wendelton’s armor. This suit of armor currently serves as a decoration in a back room of a vampire count’s castle. The armor hasn’t been worn in years, and expounds upon this horrible plight at length whenever it detects passersby that haven’t yet heard its complaints.

Sir Wendelton’s Armor
Aura moderate abjuration; CL 9th
Slot armor; Price 20,750 gp; Weight 50 lbs.

DESCRIPTION
This +3 full plate is a chaotic evil intelligent item with following statistics:

Fort +6; Ref +6; Will +9; Int 16, Wis 11, Cha 16; Ego 10
Skills Bluff +8, Knowledge (nobility) +8; Languages Common, Draconic, Dwarven, Elven

Sir Wendelton’s armor can speak clearly when not being worn; once it is donned, only its wearer can hear its voice. The armor is both sadistic and cowardly, offering gleeful encouragement when its wearer inflicts harm upon weaker opponents, but encouraging a hasty retreat at the first sign of real danger.

CONSTRUCTION
Requirements Craft Magic Arms and Armor; Cost 11,200 gp.

Sir Wendelton's Armor is pretty cool. I will be keeping an eye on this thread.

The armor is very cool. But I hate when descriptive text says player, adventurer, or similar wording. Looks to be another Epic thread!

Contents of a Stomach (5,812 gp):
Inside the belly of a particular beast are an adamantine heavy mace (worth 3,012 gp) with 5 points of damage and the broken condition, three unworked yellow gemstones (worth 100 gp each), and a half-digested severed hand wearing (ironically) a ring of sustenance (worth 2,500 gp). A DC 20 Knowledge (dungeoneering) check reveals that the gemstones would come from layers of rock beneath terrain matching that in the immediate area, and allows a subsequent DC 20 Knowledge (geography) check to guess likely locations of a nearby gemstone mine or mineral-rich natural cavern.

Staff of the Augur (111,400 gp):
A typical staff of the augur is commissioned by powerful kytons, and looks nothing like an ordinary, harmless staff of divination. More often, it is a shaft of barbed wood, capped with a small orb of rusted iron. When the staff’s summon ability is in use, the rusted orb detaches and transforms into the summoned augur kyton, reappearing when the augur is dismissed or slain.

Whatever its appearance, a staff of the augur delights in revealing painful and unpleasant secrets. If wielded by an individual whose personality conflicts with its own, the staff does its best to reveal truths that its wielder will find disturbing. If wielded by a like-minded individual, it instead focuses on campaigns of gossip and blackmail that are usually (but not always) to its wielder’s benefit.

Staff of the Augur
Aura strong divination; CL 13th
Slot none; Price 111,400 gp; Weight 5 lbs.

DESCRIPTION
This staff of divination is a lawful evil intelligent item with following statistics:
Senses darkvision 120 ft., hearing 120 ft.; Perception +4
Fort +8; Ref +8; Will +12; Int 13, Wis 19, Cha 10; Ego 15
Spell-Like Abilities At-will—read magic; 3/day—summon (level 3, augur kyton 100%)
Languages Common, Infernal; read languages

The staff can have only one summoned augur kyton present at any given time. If any augur kyton summoned by the staff uses its commune spell-like ability, no other augur kyton summoned by the same staff in the same week can activate its own commune spell-like ability.

Note that summoned augur kytons are loyal to the staff of the augur, not its wielder.

CONSTRUCTION
Requirements Craft Staff, detect secret doors, locate creature, locate object, prying eyes, tongues, true seeing; Cost 55,700 gp.
