PCGen v5.17.11 is an alpha release with a difference.
For the first time, we introduce our new user interface!
The new user interface does most of what you are used to, but we still have to get kits, familiars, companions and temporary mods working. It is important to remember that this is an alpha in the industry standard sense and will have rough edges. We are putting it out for feedback but recommend you don't pick it up for your regular game use just yet.
PCGen is an RPG character generator and maintenance program (d20 systems). All datafiles are ASCII text files so they can be modified by users for their own campaigns.

Gah, I just downloaded 5.17.10 the other day!
Oh man, I can't wait to see the new UI :D Downloading now!
Keep v5.17.10 as the new one, as stated above is not ready for the gaming table just yet. It is missing a few things and is an "industry" standard alpha instead of the pretty rock solid alphas like the earlier 5.17.x line.

This is just the main page. Most of the other pages are similar to the old pages, except for equipment, and choose/load data sets (which is being re-designed again).

Incredible UI update! I bought Herolab last week (and love it btw) but the UI in PCGEN *was* a big turnoff for me. Good job guys, keep it up! Anything a layman can do to further the cause of PCGen?
The best way to help (other than to join the team and create datasets or help with the code) is to download and use and abuse the UI. If there is anything that you didn't like about the old UI and you still don't like it in the new one let us know on our main mailing list, or enter a JIRA ticket and track the progress yourself.
