I ran the first two parts of Kingmaker with a pretty casual group and now I am starting the AP all over for a more serious group of gamers. One of the things that I felt needed a little more work was the travel and exploration rules, which worked well but assumed that I wanted to keep track of them, weather, food, and random encounters with monsters.

This system does have a higher rate of encounters, especially if all the party does is cross a single hex in a days travel. However, these rules replace the 5% per hex crossed, 15% exploring a hex, and 15% for sleeping in the wilderness when determining if there is going to be an encounter.

Weather events happen roughly the same amount of time as they do if you follow the core weather rules. I just expanded the spectrum of what happens in the events.

I didn't write something for every event, but I explained why in the document.

I plan on using these rules in my next Kingmaker game and I wanted to post them here in the Kingmaker section so others could find and enjoy them.
