Tiny Troll (32 of 40) is full of sadness.

Compared him to any Troll fig that has come before. He is tiny.
Compare him to any other Large in the Battles Set. He is tiny.

Like the Goblins, Paizo has treated the Troll to a complete make-over and art direction for the critter.
Not everyone likes it, but I do. He just needs to be bigger than life, not dinky.

Please return the Troll to his deserved level of height and stature in future sculpts.

Yeah, Mona said that the troll was one of those things that they learned they needed to work with WizKids better with. And the dire rat.

I'm not crazy about the sculpt anyway. Hopefully the scale issue will prompt them to take another swing doing a Paizoish troll with a bigger, better sculpt in the next couple of sets.

The troll is one of my least favorites of the set, but I love the dire rat. I ended up with 4 dire rats and I was very happy!

I know that I am in the minority, but I actually like the size of the troll. I have always pictured trolls as only a bit larger than humans. If you figure that the vampire is in the six foot range, and factor in the fact that the troll is crouching down and somewhat stooped, that puts the troll at around nine feet. Seens about right for the cr and niche trolls play in the game. I like the idea of a large creature that is not so big it is falling off the edges of the base.

Size-wise I didn't really have a problem with the troll. For me it was the mouth. It's almost comical looking. It's like some sort of alien is shooting out of his mouth a foot or more. Plus the over-sized hands look somewhat out of place.

I'm not a big fan of the swallows own head troll from the core book cover, and even less excited about the miniature representation of it.

Then again, it's not helped by the oversized ogre and enormous ettin.

I like the troll, although that figure sure benefits from an ink wash. The ogre is the one I especially like. Some folks prefer "realistic" monsters, but I like them expressive and freakish.

Other than being a bit large I think the ogre is fine. I'm getting a brick Sunday and hoping for an ogre and a minotaur :D

I'll trade you one, I ended up with three of them.

Tossing everything aside, I've always imagined trolls to be in the 10ft tall range. Or the equiv of my perception of my dad's height when I first started playing 1E. :)

I'll let you know when I get them. I'll bring whatever I'm interested in trading down Tuesday for the Harrowing.
