Had a thought some weeks ago about a spell that forces flying creatures to land. Haven't been able to come back to it until now. But since I hate flipping through every spell section of the Core Rulebook, APG and Ultimate Magic to see if such a spell already is written in them, I figured I'd ask the people who already know. That would be you guys. So, does this spell already exisis within Paizo Publishing, and if so what is it called?

If you aren't adverse to 3.x material the Spell Compendium had downdraft (a downward cylinder of wind that forced airborne creatures to descend) and wingbind (which prevented a creature from making use of winged flight). As far as Pathfinder goes, I can only think of Sirocco off the top of my head, which is a 6th level spell. Although I haven't paid too much attention to Ultimate Combat and Ultimate Magic.

Went a little different route. It is a very low level spell, but as such it has a very low Will save that even a bird could pass. I figure it'll make a very useful spell, but shouldn't be to overpowered. Opinions on that statement, however, are welcome.
GROUNDED
School: enchantment (compulsion) Level: Cleric, Druid, Inquisitor,Paladin, Ranger, Sor/Wiz, Witch 0
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: medium (40 ft + 10 ft/level)
Target: one creature
Duration: 1 round per level
Saving Throw: Will negates Spell Resistance: yes
Failure to resist this spell leaves a target unable to fly under its own power. Any natural form of flight is negated for the duration of this spell and the target is earthbound until it wears off. Any creature already in flight immediately lands as soon as it is able. It does not take damage from this, and still retains enough control to land in a safe place avoiding obvious traps.

It's an old Super Nintendo game, it looked awful, but it was quirky, weird, and incredibly long. Despite the game not looking like much fun to play, it actually is incredibly fun, probably because of the pretty lights. The settings were wide, varied, and they really gave you the idea that you were traveling all over the world fighting things like evil cups of coffee, armies of huge ants, and dinosaurs. All while being in a somewhat modern setting.

When I first saw the topic I thought about main antagonists in Demon The Fallen game :)
Spells that prevent flight are interesting and useful (occassionaly, unless campaign is flying-focused) - it's just that there is enought Enchantment spells that can be used to compel flyier to land/not start (hold person/monster for example, daze (monster) against creatures that can't hover). There could be a few more spells that generate generic hindering conditions that could be useful when used against flying creatures.
