My party just finished Stolen Lands and I've had the Brevic government invite them to a gala in their honor, along with the other groups sent to explore the Stolen Lands. They'll be receiving their second charter, the one asking them to establish a barony (again with Barons Drelev and Varn receiving their own at the same time). My goals with this are to establish many of the future characters that will be important later in the AP and establishing relations with them both as future characters and current neighbors. I want to make sure they have a good relationship with the Varning Host so they have more reason to investigate in the next book, as well as introducing the Numesti family, giving far more reason to rescue Lord Terrion and his elder daughter (who I hope to set up as a love interest for one of the PCs), as setup for the 4th book.
The guest list so far includes:
Jamandi Aldori-who I plan to play as a beer drinking, badass, just-one-of-the-guys sort of girl (kind of intending someone to get a crush on her)
Maegar Varn-A saintly, knightly Cavalier fresh from exploring and clearing out the Nomen Heights. Once they're given their charters, Varn will challenge the PCs to a friendly tournament in a years time. I'm using DM DudeMeisters excellent Monster Kingdom idea and Varn will provide an extra army when it's needed. Essentially I want the PCs to love the Varnlings.
Caspar Morgarion-Varnling Elven Cleric of Erastil. A drinker and fun, may drag a PC off to get into a bit of trouble just for fun.
Willas Gunderson-A lithe, graceful Ulfen Ranger who only speaks Skald.
Jubilost Narthopple-The gnome cartographer from slightly later in RRR
Hannis Drelev-The leader and now Baron of another adventuring party, slightly older and easily offended. He may challenge an offensive party member to a duel and teach him some manners. (My PCs have issues withmouthing off to the wrong people.)
Imeckus Stroon-A member of Drelev's party. A quiet and unassuming wizard.
Pavetta Stroon-An annoying, overly perfumed, overly makeupped, slightly overweight woman with an annoying lapdog. The sister of Imeckus, she is soon to be married to Drelev, who is marrying her purely for the money.
Quintessa Maray-A member of Drelevs party. A beautiful and quite young human bard who is secretly a spy for Daggermark. She will grow to be Drelevs mistress soon after the marriage and already he pays her a bit more attention than an affianced man should.
Lord Terrion Numesti-A courtly older Knight destined to get into trouble in book 4. The PCs should like him, while still giving him a sense of dignity.
Kisandra Numesti-A slightly plain 16 year old daughter of Terrion. Will help the PCs as a messenger of Drelevs wrongdoing later.
Tamaray Numesti-An older and very shy daughter of Terrion. I intend her to start an extremely slow romance with one PC, which will hopefully grow closer but culminate when she is captured by Barbarians later.
So Paizoains, what can you give me to help? Who have I left off the guest list that I really shouls introduce? How can I make this a memorable night for all the party members? What can I add to make the various characters more interesting? What ways can I accomplish the goals I've set for this party?

I ran Varn as a super friendly man's man, (like Elaine's boss from Seinfeld). The players liked him.
That was pretty much exactly my plan as well. Also congratulations and thank you for your amazing work on RRR and VV. I'm already planning on using both conversions. Absolutely great work.

I'm intending to have him be quite the boisterous knight type. Kind of all the best parts of a man's man and a paladin. I intend to leave the PCs with a feeling of "this man is a good man. One who defends his friends like a bear defends its young and whose enemies should quake even as they admire his honor." Kind of an Arthurian figure really. Only to make it all the more worrisome when he vanishes.
For contast I intend to have them get the feeling of "harmless idiot letch" from Drelev, with him only teaching them differently if they offend his honor.
I also intend to have the gala represent the "politics before you're a politician" making for possibly increased trade, loyalty or starting kingdom BP. Myfirst inclination is to have a "Reputation" score with each neighbor or major group, and having this be an easy chance to begin raising or decreasing it. Thoughts?

I halved the BP from Restov and had Elven and Dwarven delegates as well
as Worldwound refugees, the PCs had to use Diplomacy and make promises to these folks in order to attract investment and citizens. Basically each "faction" was Neutral, changing an attitude to "Helpful" netted 5 BP, and "Friendly" netted 10. The party had fun trying to resolve the sometimes conflicting desires. I'll post my notes up when I'm home if you like?

I've got nothing on interesting NPCs, except to throw in people that /aren't/ in the other Stolen Lands expeditions. The chartering Swordlords, their own families and friends from back home, and those of the other expeditions.
If the Stroons are Big and Important, throw in a bossy mom character for the brother and sister.
I do like the idea of something that happens "at home," I was kinda disappointed with the lack of ties to the existing Brevoy in the AP as written. And I like social adventures.

These are the notes I worked from (slightly edited as I originally had additional events occur within the party.
Rumours in Restov
Restov
- The Party is greeted by Lilly Ladoca, she shows them to a very fancy hotel paid for by the Sword Lords of Restov. They are told they have a day to enjoy themselves, as the other explorers have already arrived or are expected within the day. Lilly suggests the party purchase some formal wear, as the Inauguration Ball is planned for the next day.
- Rumours – Restov is abuzz, four proposed colonies are being discussed by the sword lords. It’s something of an open secret.
- Rumours - Some explorers are to be anointed into the nobility by the Churches of Erastil and Pharasma.
- Rumours – Lord Varn’s exploration party consisted of Maegar Varn, his daughter Holly Varn (19), and other NPCs named in VV.
- Rumours – Lord Hannis Drelev is here with his wife Lady Pavetta Stoon-Drelev, his advisor Imeckus Stroon, Lord Terrion Numesti the Baron’s military adviser.
- Rumours – Word has it that King Irovetti of Pitax is in Restov on diplomatic business.
The Inauguration Ball
- The ball begins with introductions by the Heralds. Various Brevic nobility are already in attendance.
- The Dwarven contingent wants the PCs to discover and claim the Dwarven Ruins, and want first rights to any precious gem mining operations. (10 BP) (5 BP upon completion) (Diplomacy DC 17, failed check only provides half BP)
- Elven contingents want to claim the Elven Ruin. They also want to found a forest Village called Tatzlford. (10 BP) (5 BP upon completion) (Diplomacy DC 15, failed check only yields half BP)
- Human refugees from the Worldwound. The refugees have little to offer besides manpower, but want little besides the chance to live in the PCs kingdom free from constant Demonic invasion. (5 BP) (No Check Required)
- Lord Varn’s party arrives next
- Followed by the Drelev party.
- The Pathfinder Society party (Venture-Captain Sascha D’vore, and guest Hollow Graves Esq.) (knowledge (history) 5 BP, failure yields only half)
- Father Turvic, representing the Church of Erastil. Wants Church of Erastil to be the official church of the Kingdom. (10 BP) (knowledge (religion) DC 17, failed check yields only half)
- Mother Devrin representing the Church of Pharasma. Wants Necromancy outlawed in the Kingdom.(10 BP) (knowledge (religion) DC 17, failed check yields only half).
- Representatives of Brevoy (30 BP Automatic)
1. After the introductions there’s a formal dinner where an informal boasting competition happens. It comes to a close when King Irovetti bursts into the room, throwing a shield upon the floor bearing the mark of the Iron Brotherhood (the fourth band of adventurers given a charter into the lands bordering Pitax) and makes it known in no uncertain terms that he will brook no contest to his borders and that the new barons had best remember that.
2. Then mingling, the PCs can get to know their investors and potential subjects. Hollow Graves approaches any Elves about Elven Ruins. He also asks any female party members for a dance.
3. Any gnome PC is approached by a gnomish delegation, talking about the links between the Stolen Land and the first world, of course they are looking to invest in the community, but it’s a matter of promotion. The gnomes seek permission to send an exploratory party to map parts of the realm and will provide a good deal on any maps created.
4. The new barons are anointed by the clerics of Erastil and Pharasma. They sign the new Charter.
5. Party winds down…
Hope that helps.

I'm planning on adapting these concepts as a way to introduce Varn (and other important players) before he vanishes. We're almost at the end of RRR right now (we'd be done if I hadn't lagged behind in the events for Dudemeister's Monster Kingdom variant), and it's been about two years since the kingdom was founded, so it's time for the Swordlords to call everyone in and basically give them the "Remember who you owe your kingdoms to" speech.
As always, I'm running behind on my planning, and NPC personalities are my weakest area, but I figure I can spotlight the most important characters and remind them that Brevoy exists as more than a spot to go to get restoration cast.
As always, I love your ideas, DM, even though this one doesn't really fit in with my game right now. I wish I'd seen it 4 months ago ;)

You're welcome :-) I love reading all the great ideas on these boards and implement many of them where I can.
My favourite part of Kingmaker is that I still get to flex my creative muscles.
