Let's say you have a class that gets +0 BAB at first level, but you want a feat that requires +1 BAB such as Exotic Weapon Prof, or Power Attack.
Must you wait till your 3rd level pick, or can you let your 1st level feat go unselected until 2nd level, when you have that +1BAB?
My search fu only turned up one thread about this question in the General Pathfinder Rules forum, and all that was agreed upon was that RAW, it doesn't say that you must pick immediately, but neither does it say that you can hold the feat and select later... and that the GM at your table will have the final word.
So.. that can't be the answer for PFS.. since what one GM allows another may not. What's the rule interpretation for organized play?

You are not allowed to delay your feat choices. Even by general rules, all leveling up choices are made at once.
Not to quibble, or even insinuate that you're wrong.. but where does it say that? If I had found it, I wouldn't have bothered posting the question :D Where did I miss that one being spelled out?

How is this even a question? The rules say you gain a feat when you level up. Failing to also say "and not some other time" doesn't qualify as ambiguity. So unless there's some other line somewhere that suggests otherwise, it's completely clear: you take feats when it says you take feats. You can't hold on to them for later (as much as I'd like to sometimes, for exactly the situation you mention).

How is it not? I didn't want to do necromancy in a thread that appeared to have come to a consensus.. just because I thought it didn't sound right for a PFS setting. I've seen lively discussions about rules in this forum, I've seen quick answers, and I've even seen the Paizo higher ups chime in on official clarifications.
Why wouldn't I ask it?
Below the list of classes, under Advancing Your Character.
And there's the answer. I scoured the rules in the Feats section, I scoured the rules in the making your character section, there comes a time when you find it's just going to be faster and less aggravating to throw a question out to the many other people who at least one of which must happen to know exactly what you're looking for.. despite you not being able to find it and seeming like it 'must not be there' w/o the benefit of hind sight.
Thank you... that wasn't so hard, was it?
