Shackled City and Age of Worms (the old 3.5 Adventure Paths) were designed with 6 characters in mind.
Rise of the Runelords onwards were designed with 4 characters in mind. You CAN have up to 6 characters, but it usually requires some adjustment or not worrying too much if the PCs occasionally fall behind on XP as 6 characters has an average party level of +1.
Kingmaker has a great 6 player conversion.

No the game tends to break down at anything more than 6 players. Essentially going that far from the presumed for "here be monsters".
