It would be nice if there was a way for people to "like" a post in a thread. Especially in advice threads. It feels spammy to post "agreed" when a person answers a question in the same way I would have. I would prefer to click the "Right-on" flag on a message an be on my way.

The plus sign on the right hand side of the post will do this.

Actually, that's the "Favorite" function, which to me is different than a "like."
If you favorite a post, it lets you track it--under your tabs you can see all the posts you favorite. So I find myself not hitting the plus sign for every post I "like" because then it spams up the actual list of "favorite" posts I'd like to go back and re-read or check later.
So I'd actually love a "+1"/"I agree" button that didn't fill up my favorites--just literally adds a +1 to the post but doesn't alter my profile in any way.

It is different then a like, but from what I have gotten from the web guys that is as close as we are likely to see.
