[LPJ Design] Chase question...

Product Discussion

Hey all,

I recently purchased the "Urban Chase Deck" from LPJ. If you own or use the product, I just have to ask, while the stats shown are fairly straightforward, the scenes/card pictures seem to make no sense? Example: one card has a pic of an open courtyard and the card title is (duh) "open courtyard." The skill checks for this chase "obstacle" are Knowledge(local) 15 or Perception 10.

Maybe I'm slow, but I don't see how this is an obstacle, nor do I see how the skill checks even relate? Can someone offer advice in this regard? There are quite a few cards like this.

Thanks

I would guess they are to be aware that you can go that way. Knowledge (local) would apply as you knowing that it is there, while Perception would be to notice that it is there. Otherwise, you're "stuck" on that card.

First off, thanks for the purchase of the chase cards.

Second, you have to think of this ins the situation that you are in a location that is not directly familiar to you. It might be an open courtyard but if you don't know where the passage leads to, you could go down a dead end ally or noisy side street or even into a smelly sewer. You can't assume you know exactly where this chase is leading or where you are going. Hope this helps.
