In need of inspiration.

Silver Crusade

With PFS games tomorrow, I'm finding myself a little dry on inspiration for roleplay. I've made several characters I can use, but I've got no idea who they are, more than simple stats and numbers. So, with the game looming, I turn to you all for help. I can give you the basics for each of the characters I've made, but I'll need a little help coming up with why they're there.

The characters I've got thus far are these:

Baldurin Lornhall- Dwarf Oracle of Stone- Grand Lodge (Maybe Andoran or SC)
Rokhall- Half-Orc Shadow Witch- Shadow Lodge
Mordrem Veilt- Dwarf Inquisitor- Silver Crusade (Maybe Andoran)

So, i'd like you to toss around some ideas with me to help kick-start inspiration for why each of them is a Pathfinder. Even if you can only come up with an idea for one, by all means. I'm looking foward to your responses :)

I'd look to the Inner Sea World Guide or the PathfinderWiki and decide what region you come from, what religious values you espouse, etc. Then go and think about some events that happened during the life of your character that makes you live up to the goals and values of your faction. It takes some work but it pays off for your role playing experiences at the table.

Those all look like cool concepts, what module or modules are you playing? Maybe you can get a hook from the module blurb and go with that?

Heya Joseph. Nice to see the fellow GA pathfinders pitching in. Well, unfortunately, I don't have a copy of the ISWG, but I'll look up the Pathfinder Wiki.

As far as their respective deities, I can say this:

Baldurin- Torag or Abadar
Mordrem- Iomedae
Rokhall- Nethys, maybe. Least certain on this one.

The Inquisitor, I was considering being from the Mendev area, dealing with the crusades, there, but not sure what changed him to a Pathfinder. The other two are up in the air.

Oh, Nater, we're starting with Before the Dawn: The Bloodcove Disguise.

Happy to help! Just do a cursory glance at the information on the gods on the Wiki. Might help flesh out cool little role playing quirks.

As far as why an inquisitor from Mendev who deals with crusades what to join the Pathfinder Society? You may want to strengthen the bonds between the country and the most powerful organization on Golarion. You may realize that the extensive wealth of knowledge the Pathfinders hold may contain the information you seek in order to fight back the demonic hordes. Maybe the Pathfinders have access to a relic of great power that could aid your country. Just make sure you play The Sarkorian Prophecy with this character when you reach 7-11 (I'd suggest at 10-11). You will not be disappointed.

Well in Before the Dawn Part 1 you are going to one of the strong holds of the Aspis Consortium itself, Bloodcove. You could go with a revenge angle against the AC, maybe they wronged you or your family in the past and that is why you mainly joined the Pathfinder Society?

I'll give some quick ideas I have based on solely the information you've given.

This grim-sounding, no-nonsense dwarf seeks all truth in stone. Rocks and stones are eternal; wood breaks, flowers wither, metal rusts. Ancient ruins intrigue Baldurin due to the history they hold. The tales the stone can tell, imagine... Keywords serious, few-worded, protective, analytical.

I'm unfamiliar what's a shadow witch, but I get the feeling Rokhall is something very sinister. Possibly his motivation for seeking artifacts and relics is their magical power? Tough one. Anyway, key words would be sinister, selfish, confident, determined.

A really interesting mix. A dwarf who had dwelled more among humans than his brethren. Might have been saved by helpful pathfinder humans, and in that light saw the organization as something to be part of? Naw, too obvious...

Really hard mix, really. Iomedae, who was practically the follow-up of Aroden, the god of humanity. Can't help you with that.
