Using this alias I am in a PBP here that does not consistently update with a "new message" count from my "Campaign" screen in my profile. (ie. sometimes the count is accurate and sometimes it is not.) Additionally I will sometimes pop into the thread, see nothing, come back a few hours later and see posts from before or during my last time in the thread...
I use multiple aliases throughout the forums and I am in multiple updating threads and only this one thread w/ this alias has this problem. Any ideas?
This is likely due to the efforts of our AI Overlord, The PMG, and his experiments at manipulating time in order to ensure his creation and eventual dominance of life as we know it.
Are you browsing using multiple devices, or is this usually all on the same browser & computer?
Sorry, I just now noticed your question.
I am using multiple devices; Current Firefox on an XP machine, Dolphin HD on an Android phone, Dolphin HD on an Ipad, and a relatively current version (not newest but close to) version of Firefox on an Ubuntu Linux machine.
This problem seems to occur regardless of the combination of devices I use in a day but does seem to be more concentrated or noticeable on the weekends. It would be the case that I am not using the desktops as much during this period so maybe it is related to Dolphin HD?

It's probably not any particular individual device that's the problem. If you're browsing using multiple devices simultaneously we will be tracking how many new posts there are for any given thread separately for each device though. So that info can get a little out of sync for the duration of the simultaneous sessions. I'm not sure we have a good workaround for that at the moment, if that's actually what's happening.
Maybe I will try to be more conscious of closing my browsers on the devices and see if that might be the issue. Maybe the phone is refreshing while I am on my Ipad or something to that effect.
