howdy everyone,

I just had a couple questions for GMs that ran this part of the AP already. I did some search-fu and couldn't find what I was looking for.

so, phases 1-3 of the attack, is it just one roll per phase or more ? I didnt see it mentioned in the module.

if it is just one roll per phase, won't that run things too quick for the battle points to accumulate properly ? I'm all for the PCs winning, but from what I read the attackers don't have much of a chance of coming close to the BPs that the PCs can accumulate.

As always, Thanks for all the help.

Anyone? If this was addressed elsewhere, please point me to it. Thanks.

Yes, it is one roll per round. Yes, it is pretty short, and heavily slanted towards the PCs. I think the point is to emphasize their contribution, rather than that of the villagers. I don't think it would hurt anything if you extended it out, though. Maybe even keep running it every round while the players fight the trolls. Or just make the PC combat the central point, and have the preparations help in that (random shots from archers on the roofs, trenches to force the trolls into choke points, etc).

Thanks for the response. I believe I will try that.
