Hi all,
I'm looking to get a Reaper mini painted to represent my new tabletop D&D character. Can anyone recommend a painting service that can do a single mini for me? Looking for a nice balance between quality and affordability. A relatively short turnaround time would also be a big plus. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Generally speaking, I would suggest asking around/advertising at your FLGS and any area Games Workshops, where you can find someone local.
But since I'm here, I may as well toot my own horn. I usually charge $5 for painting a standard 28mm mini, more if any of the following apply: the mini requires complex assembly, the you need conversion work done, or you want a very, very, high quality level of painting. The $5 covers cleaning, filing off of mold lines, glue onto a base, the paint job, and a basic basing job (usually painted sand and flocking).
I have some pictures of minis I've painted here, bearing in mind I did not have ideal conditions for photography nor a good camera, and there is a lot of glare on the detail (I also didn't have a good matte varnish when I took pictures of some of those, but I now use Testor's Dullcote). A better image is this one, which I painted for my players in a campaign I ran (everyone wanted their character to wear black for some reason). That's an example of a $5 paint job (not including conversion or complex assembly).
I live in northern Maryland. You'd need to ship it to me if you didn't live near by, and send me an additional $2.50-$3.00 to help me cover return shipping costs.

I'm sorry I missed this one for so long! I know a few painters that work on commisison, with rates that vary by quality of paintjob - as low as $MSRP of the figure up to $300 per figure. Obviously, a $MSRP paintjob is a 4-5color, minimal special effects (glows, fire, etc.) and the more you offer, the better the quality.
send me an e-mail and I will connect you with a painter that will work with you, send you photos of the examples of what qaulities ot expect for what rates, etc.
