Shatterworld: Original Free Campaign Setting

Homebrew and House Rules

Hi folks,

New to the board. I'm a long time AD&Der, with 2.0 and 3.x experience, as well as Rolemaster.

I have created a blog for my own campaign world, Shatterworld. It is designed to be a mostly human, low level magic campaign, with room for as much monsters and mayhem as you might want to add (or have your players adventure to)

I have gotten quite a bit done so far, and have plenty more to add. So far I've sketched in Geography, fighters and spell casters, cultures ranging from medieval european, celtic type clans, norsemen, persian and african influenced cultures, as well as describing the "ruling class".

I've paid particular attention to creating a mercenary "sword for hire" feel to the world, as opposed to a feudal type of societal structure. It is in many ways more "wild west" than "king arthur".

I've also given story rational for having butt loads of ruins filled with lost magic and treasure.

I'm partnering with a local GM on running a campaign. It is not a rules specific environment, and I"m happy to answer questions and help GMs with running campaigns there.

Check the blog out, if nothing else than for the awesome artwork I've been using. It should all be public domain (created before 1923 or the artist died before 1942) but check for yourselves. If you like the art, google the artist's name, and you'll find a whole lot more like it.
