You could go with something simple like M-##. M = designation as a module and ## = the order published. If you want you could add a year designator; M-YY-##. Quests could receive a similar designation; Q-YY-##.
You could use a special designation for "can always play for credit" adventures.

Pathfinder Modules already have product codes that begin with PZO95, followed by a number designating the order published; Feast of Ravenmoor is our 33rd full-length module, so it's PZO9533.
Note that our 16-page Free RPG Day modules work slightly differently; they're PZO9500, PZO9500-1, PZO9500-2, PZO9500-4, and PZO9500-5... (We did the Bonus Bestiary instead of a module in 2009; that's PZO9500-3.) And the 16-page module released in the GameMastery Treasure Chest was PZO9500-TC1.
You'll find the codes printed on the back of each product, usually near the bar code, and they're also listed on the website below the product description, just above the reviews/discussion tabs.
