Southern New Hampshire Game! Low-magic, gritty, homebrew

New Campaign!

I'm looking to start up a new campaign in a homebrew setting in the greater Nashua area of New Hampshire. We currently have 2 very excited and eager people in our group and are looking for a few more before starting up. This will be a weekly game, likely during a weekday. We are leaning towards Monday so far, but it's up for debate with any new members.

The game will take place in a newly created, homebrew world. Players will be able to provide some input to help shape the world they want to play in.

The game is going to be a very gritty, low magic setting. We are using a few house-rules along with the E6 rules. There's not too many changes, and players can be taught the differences on the fly.

If this sounds like something you are interested in, please reply here. You can also email me directly at astralplaydoh@hotmail.com Thanks!

The rest is going to be in character as I try to describe the campaign world.

You take a moment to check the lock to your room's door. Satisfied that it's locked securely, you reach into your pack. Pulling out a small envelope, your eyes become wide. Your hands shake as you carefully open the envelope and pull out the first slip of paper.

You read the first page:
Ignorance is not always bliss...

As you are likely aware, possession of this written record is illegal, punishable by at least a month in the dungeons of the Church. If you are found to be capable of reading and writing, the punishment becomes cleansing by way of the Church’s holy fire. The choice to continue reading is yours. Be vigilant and hide this record from the divine eyes of the Church.

Knowledge sets us free,
The Gray Scholar

Your forehead begins to sweat. Did the inn just get quiet downstairs, you think to yourself? It must be your imagination, you convince yourself.

You read the second page:
The Church has been closing in on us. Their terrible hands almost able to reach us. They call us the Corrupted. Such irony. They hope to keep the rest of the world enslaved by outlawing the written word. But, we'll not let the others maintain their ignorance forever.

Your handle trembles as you continue to read. The thought of what would happen to you if you were caught with possession of written words, let alone the blasphemy you are currently reading.

You read the final page:
We've been able to study some of the Blessed's magic to compare against our own. Thankfully, one of their own turned against the Church and sought us out for his own protection. We've come to the conclusion that there is no difference whatsoever. Our magic works the same way, comes from the same source. They...

Your reading is interrupted as the door bursts open, torn from it's hinges. A wave of heat follows the splintered remains of the door as it bursts inward. When the smoke clears, two robed priests step away from the opened doorway. Two armored figures pass the priests as they charge into the room. They quickly subdue you, dropping you to the floor. A bag is forcefully placed over your head. A terrible thump against the back of your head causes you to black out.
