But why?
Shouldn't this be: XIV and not XIII-2?
WTF?
Square Enix has obviously gone the route of trying to milk established characters as much as possible before making a new series.
I'm frankly surprised they haven't come out with FF:VIII-2.**They have already been milking FF:VII with Crisis Core, Before Crisis, and Dirge of Cerberus.

Based on my 2 attempts to play through XIII, this will be the first FF that I won't purchase. Got as far as chapter 9 or 11 (don't really recall which), the movie sequences were nice but the game got old on me fast. I also wouldn't classify this as a Final Fantasy as their wasn't any freedom in where you go and no control over the other characters in your group without shifting.

Two reasons: First, XIV is a MMORPG, and second, it's not a new Final Fantasy, it's a sequel to XIII, just like X-2 was. It's the same world as XIII and it continues the story.
XV will have its own world, just like every other main FF title had.

Huh... that was an easy answer.
(I'm sorry that you liked it.)
It is not disrepect, i've played every title since FFVI and generally love the series, but not of all i liked at the same level. The story of XVIII sucked, FFIX had a decent story, but awful starring characters. Liked well enough both X and XII.
But as i said earlier XIII bored me to death from the intro.| KaeYoss |

Nothing wrong with you not liking the game while I like it. And it's not disrespectful to say so. As long as you don't say it in a disrespectful and condescending manner. And you didn't do so.

It's always good to chat with a civil person, luckily these boards are full of such people

one word: honey badger
Well, one could argue that "honey badger" are two words rather than one.
And I'm not sure what this majestic animal has to do with Final Fantasy, but them being honey badgers, I judge no mention of them out of place. They're honey badgers! - the badass Chuck Norrises of the animal kingdom.
Or are you, perchance, implying that FFXIII-2 will contain honey badgers? That would be very bad - either they're on your side and you immediately win the game, or they're opposing you, and you're doomed - no amount of grinding or gil toss could ever hope to prevail against them!

Arnwyn seems to hate everything judging by his posts. Try not to take the bait. He does these drive-by posts all the time.
LOL. I just hate things that suck. No surprise there!
But then, I've already long posted things that I do like, and you've been in those threads as well, so don't be a git... pay attention for once. (And the irony of KaeYoss of all people chirping about "condescending" is particularly hilarious. He asked nothing more than "why not" in a post, so I answered simply as well.)
FFXIII particularly sticks in my craw, because it really is the worst FF ever made, and I'm a huge fan of FF. It's also unfortunate because FFXIII is the culmination of the downward spiral of FF, which hasn't been that great since FFX. One long hall really does suck, whether certain people like it or not. And it didn't need to be that way, since the battle system was somewhat decent (though not as good as past FFs).
It shouldn't surprise anyone that FFXIII was the worst-reviewed of all FFs.
So, why should we expect FFXIII-2 to be any better? SE has shown that they really haven't learned from their mistakes, and they've gone and gummed up FFXIV so bad that SE themselves are talking about the FF-brand being "damaged". Yeah, no duh.
