Gamer Resume: Seeking good PbP

1 person marked this as a favorite.

So. Here's the deal. I'm bored during the work hours, and can scrape together at least one solid post a day, usually more.

I would love to be in a PbP, but sadly my luck with getting in has been lackluster. So. I'm going to put a resume up here and see who has a PbP they're trying to start or need a new player for that's interested in an old man like me.

I would be up for anything in Golarion, with two exceptions:
Kingmaker, as I'm already in a game.
Jade Regent, as while I can separate IC and OOC and would love to play, I am Gg required to disclose that I'm running it and have read the books.

I would really love something in Cheliax or RotRL, as I am interested particularly in those sorts of games, but as a beggar I do not get to be particularly choosy.

Resume:
Username: Trinam
AKA: AM BARBARIAN

I have never been in a PbP before, but I have a great deal of both pathfinder experience and experience with forum based roleplays. I am capable of both optimizing and min-maxing, though I generally avoid the latter. I prefer trying to figure out a concept and then making some cool crunch to tie into the fluff.

I am considered something of a barbarian specialist on the boards, but I have experience with the whole gamut of marital classes and arcane casting classes. Divine classes I am proficient with, but I am still working on mastering as someone else in my usual circle always plays the divine casters.

I am also a little crazy, as would be expected of someone who can play barbarians well.

Anyways, let me know if you need a player. I'm willing to change concepts around or whatever to suit your needs as a gm or group.

Have a good one, paizanos.

I'd love to have you (your AM BARBARIAN posts have entertined my roommate and I to no end in recent days), but unfortunately all of my current PbP games already have a full 6 PC line-up. If any of my players go AWOL though, I'll let you know.

I could squeeze you in my game.

here is it's RP Bar so the players get a feel for each other and to develop there characters
You can also view the bar to see if it fits your style.

Your game does seem quite interesting, but there look to be a lot of rule variations I'm unfamiliar with. They look to be homebrewed. Is there a reference document for them I can look at?

The docs are in the thread, scattered about, but collected in later posts

and if there is a custom race you like but know one asked, just ask and I'll load it up to the thread.

I use the greyhawk pantheon (link provided in thread) and the paradox system (doc in thread) is a custom realism mod I made. The some of the new races are documented in the thread (mountain folk, nymph-touched, succubus-touched, 1/2 frostfolk)

edit:
the thread does contain data about the world and anything that is not covered you can ask about.

In a month or so I'll be running Age of Worms/Falcon's Hollow series as a PbP. It'll be set in Andoran, using Falcon's Hollow as the starting point and converting everything over. If you're still looking for a game when I get the recruitment thread up I'll keep a slot open for you. I rather like the idea of a gamer resume, and was thinking of how to impliment something similar...

Azure: After a good hard look at the game, it does not appear to be my type of thing. I love the Paradox rules because they call to my inner tweak, but the setting doesn't appear to be what I'm looking for.

Thanks for the heads-up about the game, though!

Fraust: Ahh, I haven't played age of worms yet! I've heard it's sort of a meat grinder. All the better to make more dudes with.

Ringtail: Glad I've been entertaining. If someone does drop, let me know and I'll be happy to take a look at stuff. :)

Thanks for looking and hope you have a great game.

Yeah, there's a few spots that are pretty rough. I'm going through and making things a little tighter during the conversion process too. Not that I'm a master optimizer or anything, but I'm getting rid of a lot of Skill Focus (blahblahblah) and whatnot...

Sounds like fun.

If by fun you mean murder.

And I always do.

Because killing PCs is fun.

Trinam.....

I have a couple pbp's running right now....

If I am reading right, one if them is shackled city.

If this is a pathfinder conversion and there's a slot open, I am so there. My last group hardly got anywhere before the gm moved.

If it's 3.5, I can do it, but it will take a bit to get back to speed.

If there's no slots open, I might cry.

It actually is a PF shackled city everyone is third level....

I recommend you take a gander at the thread...

I will say that they are currently in a substitute chapter of the whole thing, but the substitute is "Forge of Fury"

I plan on going all the way with SCAP.

Take a look
make a character
and come on over

Alternately you could take over my former PC, who is now an NPC.....

So, I'm working on a character concept... I figure I'll make one of my own. Probably a Sorcerer; it's been forever since I've rolled one of those and I noticed a lack of full arcane castys.

Oh god, I'm playing a squishy casty. I feel dirty inside.

Should I place my character concept in the discussion board, or here? And are there any important character creation rules I should be aware of? I saw the 'Max HP each level' note, and that there are hero points available. I also noticed the characters are level 3...

My 3rd level character should have full WBL right? Also, how many traits should I pick?

Two trait one should be campaign specific.....

Roger that. Where would you like me to post the character at when done?

My apologies for the delay; I have placed the character up for your perusal.

If not for wives and their chiropractic issues, would have had this done yesterday. Married life is tough; they don't tell you that beforehand. T^T

Try having children.

I would, but I've already proven any child of mine would be the direct cause of the apocalypse.

Seriously. Math was involved.
