Had a random idea for a gestalt game. DM decides which classes he/she thinks are the weakest and makes a list. Some think the Rogue and Monk are weak for example, though this thread is not about debating that point. The PC's have to have one of the 'weak" classees as the one of the gestalt classes. Would make for an interesting themed campaign. Like a sea going campaign if everyone had some bard or rogue mixed into their main class. Feel free to steal the idea. If you do PBP let me know. ;-)

Monk and Rogue are really only weak because they have the BAB of a 6 level caster but either no casting or, for the quingong, casting arguably comparable to a 4 level caster. Gestalt them and that goes away. Gestalted Monk removes all the weaknesses of pretty much any class.
Arcanist/Monk: no longer so squishy
Martial/Monk: all good saves and you can still fight effectively against anything without DR the instant you wake up. A naked fighter/monk gestalt is more dangerous than a pure monk with an amulet of mighty fists enchanted to level/5. Presumably you sleep with your permanent stat boost items on.
Hybrid/Monk: Not so much gain, but you get saves and flurry.
Divine/Monk: as the Hybrid.
Rogue doesn't gestalt so well with most things because of the poor saves, but the cleric should take it for almost no downside trapfinding and skill monkeyhood since he has fort and will covered.

Rogue 3 / Wizard 3 to Arcane Trickster / Zen Archer Drunken Master seems like a pretty amazing character to me :). Full caster, full sneak attack, and lots of ranged feats. Even his little Wis to AC.
On 20 pts:
Str: 14
Int: 18
Wis: 12
Dex: 14
Con: 12
Chr: 7
Full caster, 8 skills / level, sneak attack, archer goodies. Loses 1 effective BAB. Yep, he's good.
Druid / Monks are a bit silly-good already, and this gets all benefits of both. Really monk with UC has dropped below Cavalier, Alchemist on the list of suck-classes.
Oh, and Bard / Master Summoner makes an army and buffs them to oblivion.
