Converting the Calzone Golem

So, I know there are certain people on here that have very fond memories of a monster from a free D&D adventure called "Something's Cooking." I want to adapt it to Pathfinder for a Runelords campaign I'm running. Problem is, I've never built a monster for Pathfinder before. Anybody have any advice, or actually converted this guy?

The calzone golem is a mindless construct, so there's not too much involved in the conversion. You can simply port over most of the abilities. Note that golems in pathfinder (and 3.5) are only immune to spells that allow spell resistance (so note this change from 3.0 in the monster description). And of course face has been replaced by Space simply as 5 ft. I haven't looked too much how the pricing of golem construction has changed since 3.0, but i think there's some guidelines for construct creation/pricing in Ultimate Magic. Constructs have the Craft Construct feat as a prereq for making them (since 3.5).

The only real major issue is how you want to convert it due to the differences in construct type. In Pathfinder, they have d10 HD, good BAB, and bonus hp according to size (+20 for medium size). This would give the monster +7 to attack, 53 hp, a CMB of 9, and a CMD of 18. These stats are, of course, more powerful than the 3.0 writeup.

Looking at the Monster by CR chart, it would seem with a direct port of the stat block, the critter would be more like CR 4-5ish. So let's compare it to the ice golem, a CR 5 golem with about the same amount of HD and damage capacity. The calzone golem doesn't have any damage reduction and worse AC. Its breath weapon is shorter range, and its energy aura does a little less damage but its punches do a little more damage. In the end, it looks like the calzone golem is a bit weaker than the ice golem. However, if you look at the carrion golem (CR 4), the next step down, the comparison is a little bit more difficult. The carrion golem has a better AC, better special abilities, and DR, but less hp and less damage capacity. So maybe with some playtesting give it a CR of either 4 or 5, or optionally, reduce the HD by 2-3 to bring it down to what it was before.

*Mind explodes out of back of face*

Holy crap. I remember this adventure. In fact, it was the first adventure I ever ran on my own. Oh, man. Good times.

It shouldn't be too hard to port it over. The bestiary has REALLY nice monster creation guidelines in the back of the book.

P.S.: Wow...you just made my day.
