Homebrew and House Rules

being a star wars fan, and watching them this week, i have thought about making a single person speederbike in PF lately. the rules would be similar to the magic carpets except they would only be able to carry 1 person, 2 if small or smaller. could add saddle bags of holding just for good measure. it can be made of any material, though certain materials would be cheaper. any thoughts or am i just that crazy fanboy trying to mix genera again?

How does this sound?

Jeuce's Horseless Steed

Aura faint evocation, faint transmutation; CL 5th
Slot—; Price 8,500 gp (basic), 38,500 gp (flying); Weight 300 lbs
Description
This wondrous machine is made out of magically reinforced iron, is built to accept two riders, and has a specialized steering device mounted on the front of the machine. The machine can be ridden as a mount, and can carry up to two medium or smaller riders and 200 lbs of additional equipment. It may even be equipped with masterwork saddles as a horse could.

While it is an object, the machine functions in many ways like a creature. It is large size, has a speed of 60 ft., hardness 20, 180 hit points, a break DC of 50, an armor class of 4, and a +4 bonus on Saving throws. The machine uses its rider's saving throws or its own (whichever is greater). The machine hovers 3 ft. above any solid or liquid surface and is not affected by difficult terrain. The machine can be made to double-move or even "run" or charge as limited by its speed.

The machine can be difficult to maneuver when it is moving beyond a speed of 60 ft. per round. When using the run action, the machine is treated as if it were flying for the purposes of maneuvering. Making sharp turns is difficult and can result in a collision. This is treated as a Fly skill check but the Rider may use his Ride skill check (at a -6 for the machine's size and poor maneuverability) in place of the Fly check. Failure can result in a collision. A collision inflicts 1d6 bludgeoning damage per 10 ft traveled during the movement to the machine, rider, and creature or object the machine collided into. Creatures that would be collided into receive DC 13 Reflex save to move out of the way and avoid the damage. If the rider intentionally attempts to collide with a target, the DC is instead 10 + the rider's ranks in the Ride skill or 13 (whichever is higher).

If damaged, the machine may be repaired by anyone with the Craft Wondrous Item feat, 1 hour of work, and the expenditure of 5 gold pieces worth of materials for every point of damage sustained.

Some rare versions of the horseless steed can also fly through the air at their normal movement speed. Such models are considered to have poor maneuverability and use their rider's Ride skill check -6 (for poor maneuverability and size) instead of the Fly skill when preforming aerial maneuvers.
Creation
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, floating disk, expeditious retreat or haste, fly or air walk (flying version only); Cost 4,250 gp (basic), 19,250 gp (flying)

What do you think?
