I've got a question regarding how long it takes a group to finish an AP. I read someone played 4 hours a week and finished in a year. I've only read through Burnt Offerings and it seems that part 1, the start of the swallowtail festival and initial goblin raid can be done in less than an hour.
It appears that part 2: Local Heroes, can be done in about 2 hours. Part 3: will take a little longer because it has more combat...
Am I doing something wrong? Leaving stuff out? Should I read the other modules to see which NPCs I need to spend more time on and develop more?

It really depends on the group. A smaller group is quicker than a larger group, obviously, cause you dont have near as many people trying to roleplay and take turns in combat.
If the group just barely roleplays or doesnt like to at all, and you do only exactly what is in the book, then yea, you can probably fly through some of it.
My groups sessions are around 4-5 hours each, weve had about 14? sessions so far, and are still in the middle of book 3. Ive added a bit fo stuff, and the group is large, so combat takes longer than normal, since I have to accomodate for more players, meaning more baddies, too.
From what Ive read on here though, 4hr weekly sessions generally took groups like 9-12 months.
My group is very close to finishing the AP (about 2 sessions to go) and over the course of the last two and a half years, we've had about 40 sessions which vary from between 6 and 8 hours a session
I've not really added anything major to the campaign, it's been roughly played as written.
We got 4 players, 5 characters, about 60/40% combat/roleplay mix. I think we play quite slowly compared to other groups, combat is usually very slow and methodical. I'd like to be able to play combat quicker, partly the reason we change to PF rules for our next campaign.
