So I keep thinking of Al-Qadim and one race I was thinking of having is the peri. I decided that they'd basically be like elves that could fly, but I'd like folks here to look them over and let me know if I need to tweak anything to have them playable at 1st level.

The traditional Peri was also said to shapeshift into birds. Other random facts: male Peri are Perizads (Peri is a female noun). The original etymology derives Peri from Pairaka, which is of course, a kind of evil div. My suspicion is that the Peri may have some overlap with the Hindu Apsaras, however.
I used Peri as a shapeshifting Elven subrace in my game, living in Kelesh and Casmaron.

What about the Strix? Inner Sea World Guide, p313.

Hmm, either of those could also work. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some mythological overlap, though. It's not like a lot of the world was literate when these myths got started. Everyone loves a good story, so I imagine there's some adaptation.
