Captain America 3D

Is it worth the cost or should I just settle for the normal viewing?

Saw it in 3D yesterday and would have to agree with ulgulanoth, there are only a few moments when the 3D had any impact. Go see it, its a great move, but see it in 2D.

Absolutely 2D.

Nothing is worth the cost of 3D. Even Avatar. The forced dimensional perspective just gave me a headache, I don't know about anything else. When 3D becomes more than "look at all this artificial and forced depth!" then it will be worth something.

Eventually, the studios will be shuttling all their crap to 3D and maybe we will get cheaper 2D tickets instead of premium priced 3D tickets.

I saw Avatar, & Thor in I-max and Green Lantern & Captain America in 3D. Only Green Lantern gave me a headache and that was almost at the end. While Captain America was longer, it did not give me a headache. The problem could have been the way Green Lantern was converted to 3D, or it could even had been bad glasses.
I wear glasses and the I-max glasses fit better than the 3D ones. That could have had some effect. Also, the 3D effects in Captain America are not as in your face Green Lantern was.

Both Captain America and Thor are post-3d conversions in that the movie was shot in 2d and artificially converted to 3d in post processing.

Normal viewing, not 3D.
