We have setup a Yahoo group for PFS members that play at a particular store. I would like to post a copy of the current organized play guide (Version 4.0) in the "Files" section of that group so people can readily access it. Two questions: First, is there a way to get a non-watermarked version of the guide and, second, if not, can I use my personalized version and post it for others to download? I know I cannot do this with scenarios, but am not sure if there would be any restrictions with regard to the play guide.

The number of OP guides registered and downloaded is a key instrument at Paizo for tracking how many individuals are involved in PFS.

They have expressed in the past that they would prefer it if that instead of a hosted copy of the document, that you provide the links here. Since players require a Paizo account anyway to be members of PFS (for their PRS #), this shouldn't be too much trouble.

Everyone should come and download their own copy from Paizo. They are going to have to register their character numbers, etc, so it's not like it's an extra trip to the website.

The reason why this is, for updates to the Guide they will be directly notified via email that an update was published vs. some kind of second hand notification. Ultimately less work for you.

edit: ninja'ed!

Plus, Paizo officials in the past have stated on these forums that even though the Guide is free, they still consider it piracy if you download it from a non-legal source or have a non-watermarked copy.

What about printing out copies to give to potential new players at a game day?

I'm going down on Saturday to another organized play gameday that's run by a friend of mine from my RPGA days to gauge interest in PFSOP, and I was planning on printing off a couple of copies to share with them so they can look it over and see if they're interested.

Yup, that works. But they should end up going online and registering and downloading their own copy as well.
