Myself and three friends are attending GenCon and the only available slots for gaming for a party our size seems to be for higher level pcs. Do we have to use pregens or can we make higher level game appropriate pcs using the new guide or are he just out of luck? If we can make new characters do we each start with 150 gold for purchasing items for our higher level characters? If not where is the starting gold for higher level pcs listed in PFS? Thank you all help will be appreciated!

Character creation is limited to first level characters only, unless playing some of the level 14 modules that specifically allow creation of characters at that level.
You *could* play pregens for those modules, but honestly I would just make 1st level characters and play them up until you reach that level... it would be more fun in the long run.
Also, I'm curious what you mean from "a party our size"?

Thanks for your help I guess we will be playing pregens. What I meant was that there are four of us and tickets to get into most of the leftover games have under four players.
Ahh, well the minimum table size is 3, and max is 7... so if there's any tables with 3 players only that are low level, then you can probably join them. I'm not there so don't know what's available ;)
In any case, have fun there! Wish I were there...
