PFS Field Guide...Beware of a Potential Major Spoiler!

Pathfinder Society

Liberty's Edge

So I haven't played some of the Season 2 ending mods yet...and so haven't found out any major reveals about the Shadow Lodge as that arc gets wrapped up.

But I did purchase the Field Guide....and on page 21, just got hit with (I'm assuming) the major reveal.

Ouch.

It's a sweet bit of info...but I would have liked to find out in-mod instead of in-book.

So, I pass the caution to you...if you don't want to find something out about the Shadow Lodge arc, stay away from page 21 of the Field Guide, which is about the SL faction.

You have been warned!!!

Paizo Employee Director of Brand Strategy

As the metaplot element of the campaign becomes more and more prevalent, this sort of thing is likely to happen, as the events of earlier scenarios will be referenced in later products more than has been the standard in the first few years of PFS play. All the more reason to try to play everything as soon as it comes out.

Liberty's Edge

I know, I'm not really complaining...it was just kind of a shock.

And honestly, I can't just go and play everything as it comes out...one, I don't have the time...two, with GenCon coming up, I had to hold off on playing some mods so I'd be at the right level for those mods as well.

In any case...nice turn of events there Mark. =) I had some suspicions, but honestly didn't see that exact thing coming.

Liberty's Edge

I just noticed that the inner cover (page 2) also has the spoiler, so beware!!

Why is it that 4 out of the 10 Faction Leader pictures have their noses turned up in the air? And to be honest, Amara Li and Lady Gloriana Morilla both look like someone used the same template to draw the both of them. In fact, Ambrus Valsin looks the most distinguishable of the bunch, but that's probably because he was done by a totally different artist.

/Got to see a print-out of this at my GM's house, it's pretty neat.
//There is some juicy stuff in there.
///PCs are going to make me facepalm once they buy some of the things in there.

Oh, I think Guaril "I just farted" Karela is pretty distinguishable from the rest. As is the Shadow Lodge "fella".

Because most Pathfinders are gnomes. The can't help look up noses.

Liberty's Edge 5/5 **** Venture-Captain, Missouri—Cape Girardeau

Didn't you play The Mantis's Prey at Cape Comic Con? You should... all is revealed there, with hints throughout the Shades of Ice series, if I remember right. Maybe we should offer these again at Brewfest?

There were a few hints in Shades, but we only played two of the three, and I didn't gather enough to make that connection -- and no, we played "You Only Die Twice" instead of Mantis's Prey. Though, I may go read that one now just for the heck of it. :)

Grand Lodge

Just to point out that the Shadow Lodge reveal has been featured on the Blogs several times, and even the Season 3 Guide has info on the Lodge and using it as a faction now.

If you want to avoid spoilers for the Shadow Lodge, then avoid the blogs, and everything season 3.
