Has anyone taken on the task of doing a 5-6 player conversion? Just curious.
The game I run typically has 5-6 players. Normally what I've done is throw in 2-4 additional critters for random or mob encounters, add a lackey or two to "boss" encounters, or change their fighting tactics to make them more dangerous or "genre savvy" and once upping their levels by 1 or 2. Pretty much upping encounter CRs by 1 seems to balance the game for my group in most cases.
I have noticed though that even with the additional two players some encounters can be fairly deadly as written.
Example
First the violet fungus on the dead island in the first book can quite easily kill a lvl 1 party if it gets its attacks off quickly enough.
Next you have the rival agents in the second book with the paralyzing poison daggers. They can take the party by surprise and if played as they are in it for keeps can easily arrange coup de gras attacks on low fort characters
also the shadow daemon and succubus encounters both of them almost ended in TPKs for my group.
Not to mention in the third adventure the fiendish ape scion thing and a rather easy to irritate aboleth wandering around the waterways

I have strongly considered doing one in the style of my KM conversions and hopefully inspiring others to do later chapters but I simply haven't had the time. I might do Chapter 1 eventually, as i've got my own 6 player notes on it already made as my 6 player PbP is on the verge of finishing Chapter 1...
Time is the issue, as always.
