My answer: blue

If the question is "Can you use Cleave and Great Cleave with Pirana Strike?", I'd say the answer is no.

Pirana Strike specifically cannot be used in conjunction with Power Attack, and the Cleave chain extends from Power Attack.

i disagree, here are the answers from the teacher's book:

power attack + cleave = yes

piranha strike + cleave = yes

piranha strike + power attack = 2 x power attack = no

:)

Master Tip:

piranha strike = power attack

Teacher's Book? Master Tip? Please; how condescending.

Cleave and Great Cleave require Power Attack as pre-requisites. If you do not have the pre-requisites for a feat, or if you somehow lose them, you cannot use other feats that depend upon them. Pirana Strike specifically disallows use with Power Attack.. therefore, using Pirana Strike instead of Power Attack disables/prevents the use of Cleave and Great Cleave, or any other feat that also relies on Power Attack as a pre-requisite.

Since Pirana Strike and Power Attack approach the same issue from different foundations (Weapon Finess for one, raw Strength for the other), they are not equal.

There are many ways to gain the Cleave feat without Power Attack, and moreover, you misread the Piranha Strike feat in the sense that it only disallow simultaneous use of Power Attack, and not the other feats in the chain. Being a prereq to other feats in no way impair these other feats.

The answer to the OP's question is yes. Sorry: I wasn't trying to be condescending. Even went the extra mile to make it math-like as math is the only language that in no way convey any kind of tone... (teacher's book .... math equations... get it? :) )

Edit: [canadian politeness off] you know what? I'm starting to get ticked at the random sniper shots being fired on these boards, especially when you stop and try to help someone with a game / rules question... if you can't play nice or share your toys go home, grow a beard, and plant some veggies [/canadian politeness off]

Piranha Strike and Power Attack don't work together, but that doesn't mean you couldn't have both feats.

You don't have to be Power Attacking to Cleave, so the fact that Power Attack is a prerequisite for Cleave in no way prohibits you from Cleaving on a Piranha Strike.
