Healer as a profession?

Would it make sense to allow characters to use the Heal skill as a day job if they have at least one rank in it?

You're able to provide long term care, treat diseases and wounds, and provide other services that would be in demand as much as any other profession.

While I think your idea is highly logical, I think it doesn't fly for PFS for a few reasons:

1. Adherence to Pathfinder Society rules is stricter than a home game. It's important that every play be the same book. Even if another idea is a good one, logical, etc. (Indeed a "doctor" of Abadar is a great idea).

2. Ranks in Heal represent the knowledge of how to heal. It doesn't represent the knowledge to handle making money doing it (all that icky real world stuff about cost, depreciation, etc.) Those skills are covered under profession.

3. If Heal did work as a PFS profession, it'd be a no-brainer choice. Profession is an otherwise unused skill in Society games. Though I do understand that a bard has it made for their day job :-)

There are presently 3 options for day job rolls, Craft, Perform and Profession.

I'd require that they take an appropriate Profession skill, say Midwife or Herbalist.

Also, Sleight of Hand can be used as a perform skill as well, but that still goes along with what you said earlier for the most part

But sleight of hand cannot be used for a Day Job.

new feat: Book Keeping, choose a skill (heal (doctor), disable device(locksmith), blah blah blah) you can use this skill as to make profession rolls. This feat can be taken multiple times but you must choose a new skill.

yay for fluff?

I like the feat. It's not overpowered, and would be fine in a home game.

Sadly we can't make up feats for PFS, no matter how well-balanced or reasonable.
