Trouble getting enough judges for D&D at Gen Con 2011?

I was out on the Gen Con forums this morning and noticed this little tidbit.

Seems that the group that runs the D&D tournaments and Sagamore Ballroom events is struggling a bit for getting judges for this year, to the point that the coordinator is saying if he doesn't get judges he will be cancelling events.

This is Gencon. I could use pretty much an unlimited supply of judges. I still need about 50 more judges for this show. Otherwise I will start having to remove tickets from the system as I won't have judges to cover the tables. Please help out if you can.

Not doom and gloom or anything, but just an interesting observation on the state of the game.

Is this just for 4th ed games?

Grand Lodge

Still suffering economy + increase of event tickets and entry fees and hotel rooms + Pathfinder stealing players/GMs = DnD suckfest.

Thats my guess anyway.

Lifes a succubus then you die. Its hard to get alot of people to travel. That and alot of 4E players are players, they want a game. What we need is a panel of experience. Pathfinder/OGL/D20 still has a large number of followers. Crap this better not screw up Gen Con for me.
