Starting Gold in 3.5

3.5/d20/OGL

Can anyone tell me what the maximum starting gold would have been for a bard in the 3.5 edition of the rules? I know it's easy to look up, but I'm at school right now, and I don't have access to the books. Furthermore, it seems to have been omitted in the SRD for some odd reason.

Character creation and advancement is largely missing from the SRD. I think it's completely missing, actually, but largely is my waffle word. Game developers provide their own rules on this, although a game couldn't get the d20 compatibility stamp if they provided it, IIRC. What you're asking for is not Open Game Content. Basically, the SRD has no such rules, but D&D, PF, and other games based on the SRD do.

It's probably the same as Pathfinder's rules. I can't think of a reason it'd have changed, and even if it did, it wouldn't have been by any significant amount.

Despite not being in the SRD, Fair Use laws can still allow you to post such information. After all, it is a game mechanic, and game rules can not be copywritten. Just the way they are presented can be. Note Fair Use laws are what allow reviewers and others to comment or quote sections in the book, as long as it is not done extensively, and you don't claim the information is yours.

As such, I can say it is 40d4 gp in 3.5. Its not written that way in the book, but the outcome is the same.

OK, thank you Jeraa.
