Hello everybody,
I just started DMing and we had our first session of Carrion Crown - Haunting of Harrowstone.
I was wondering if i should let the player have a map of the dungeon / prison (they find during research) or draw the map on the battle map room by room.
how do you usually do it? and in this case?
what do you think

If there is a plan to be found via research I would doubt the PCs would find it in Ravengro. It was a high security prison and as such I would assume any plans are tucked away in some dingy room far from the place. Don't want any rescue attempts do we....
Unless I have missed something in reading....And if you want to hand out a plan for the place then any secret areas need to be hidden from the players.
Personally...I'd map it...force the unknown on the players.
Its a haunted prison..no fun if you know how big that next room is or that there is a niche for something to hide in....
EDIT: I map out room by room as default...we use a huge laminated checkboard and markers. And I frequently wipe away the rooms... The way I see it is that the players only have a map if they bother to do one themselves from the battle mat. The main reason is to keep familiarity to a minimum and its more scary for the players if they don't know exactly where "out" is if they need to have their PCs run.
