Half Orcs are awesome...
I need to get gold and buy a mule >.>
Oh if I/when I reach level 4)
I intend to take spiritual weapon, however since an Oracles powers are granted by several gods (and Gerlick himself worships no one) I was curious as to how you wanted to handle it.
The idea I had was to have the weapon that appears to be random. The damage is constant (1d8 + 1 per 3 caster levels), but the crit range is based on the weapon summoned.
The 3 gods for the Oracle of Bones are:
Norgorber - Short Sword
Pharasma - Dagger
Urgathoa - Scythe
Also, I was going to amend my appearence a bit, nothing major. Basically the holy symbol of Pharasma which makes up his birthmark is the only part of him that is untouched by his wasting disease, as if the goddess is mocking him. Also when he uses his powers it glows a sick green color.

Yeah that player has their own sense of humour, its unique. We are used to it by now.
Whilst we appreciate the comedy and just way out there-ness, i just cant see Zyren slotting that into a serious game.
I wish he did.
Harry would have clubbed it out and then sold it to a circus five minutes into the campaign, solving his financial problems :)
| Kanyk |
I reckon Kanyk and Harry could take the giant penguin, out of water a penguin isn't the most graceful bird.
Also, I've noticed that with Kanyk's abysmal Charisma he is like a tree stump compared to the rest of the party. Might have to take some ranks in diplomacy or make a concerted effort in some other way to slightly remedy that.

I reckon a 50/50 split would have been a good deal :)

@ Tark:
Let's just say I'm used to his very special characters...:-)
I don't think that Gerlick has any chance to worship Urgathoa or Norgorber in this campaign (OK, never say never), but I think the scythe will be the weapon of summoning choice.
Its not really about Worship for an oracle. Their powers are granted by a group of dieties, not just 1 single one, and comically enough oracles do not lose their powers by not doing what the gods want :) Bwhahaha the gods gave him power, and now he hates them and does as he sees fit!
Hence my asking :) By making it a scythe is fine by me! IT makes sense in a thematic sense (bones, undead, scythe)

Eh its fine Zyren!
I have to say though Gerlick is my favorite character to date, and is already changing before my eyes 0_0
Who would have thought that people would be NICE to the scarred peeling creepy and nasty looking half orc 0_o
You're going to get evil detected really really hard.

One additional thing:
Before you just leave or quit, please tell me if anything annoys you. I think we can change or correct quite alot of things. (this may sound paranoid, but I have experienced it more than a couple of times that players quit without saying anything before.)

I have no complaints so far, at least. I do, however, want to say the same thing: if I do anything that bothers any of you, whether it is through actions or characterisation or posting style, please tell me. I like to think of myself as flexible and adaptable to the needs and desires of others, and I also have occasional bouts of paranoia (as Stomphoof can attest to) - if anything does bother you, don't just hint at it; inform me.

Honestly I am having a blast.
I am surprised you added all this stuff before the adventure offically kicks off (I have read a few other Rise PBP, but dun worry, I R NOT METAGAMER!)
I can't to see what happens when my little oracle actually get some money in his hands. Its gonna be HILARIOUS
OH! I do have a quest Zyren: Does this town have a magic user who could make the following item?
From the APG:
Muleback Cords
Source: Advanced Player's Guide
Aura faint transmutation; CL 3rd
Slot shoulders; Price 1,000 gp; Weight 1/4 lb.
Description - These thick leather cords wrap around the wearer's biceps and shoulders; when worn, they make the muscles appear larger than normal. The wearer treats his Strength score as 8 higher than normal when determining his carrying capacity. This bonus does not apply to combat, breaking items, or any other Strength-related rolls except the amount of equipment or material the wearer can carry.
Construction Requirements - Craft Wondrous Item, bull's strength; Cost 500 gp
Sadly I don't want to take Craft Wondrous Item yet but these things would be awesomely handy for my little oracle. And are not too expensive either.

Regarding the stuff before the AP really starts:
I also read some on these boards before I decided to Dm my onw and I often found it quite irritating how constructed the first events were. There is sooo much background information in the books and I think using it really enhances the AP flavor-wise.

OH it was no criticsm. I am enjoying this immensly. I will agree that it felt kinda sudden how the AP normally starts given the situation.
You know, the party is almost completely together now save for the paladin...who apparently is going to be going DETECT EVIL ZOMG :P
One of these days I am going to play a very laid back paladin for a change, just to blow peoples minds. All I ever see are hardcore paladins (not that there is anything wrong with that!)
Then again, as we can see, I like playing strange characters 0_0

You're a hideous looking half orc encountering a young and idealistic paladin from a nation that stands daily against orcish hordes. I think if I didnt give you the once over I'd be tried for treason. :P

Hahahah I love that response! :)
Gerlick will just snort at you and even LET you give him the once over. He has nothing to hide. Should be an interesting encounter. Then don't forget you got 2 other orcs to deal with as well!

Excuse me Ms DM!
Can I get your input on this thread:
This here thread
I am asking the boards, but it really comes down to you, because I MAY be taking a Revelation at 3rd level that gives me the Command Undead feat, so I need to know how you interpret it working.

Harry might not be the most refined chap in the world, but one thing he has is good manners. Funny for a Thug, but then the most notable thugs and standover men in history were always terribly polite and usually very good to their mothers.
He is of the mold of the Lenny Mclean/Nosher Powell/Cray Brothers/insert-Guy-Ritchie-London-Britpop--gangster-here camp.
One never knows who one is talking to, so good manners keep one safe. Being a half-orc he'd also feel a bit of 'brotherhood', even if he is not very half orc looking (16CHA+Charming trait)... P L A Y A :)

Don't blame yourself, the sczarni crime lord is quite good at bluffing :-)
Least he seemed kinda freaked out. I was tempted to make that an intimidate roll haha.
I should have. BAH!
ALSO!
A warning for you guys
May 13th is my birthday, my wifes birthday (yes, same day) and our Wedding Anniversary. We are going to be going out of town for that weekend (13th, 14th, 15th) and I will be AWOL until the evening of the 15th. So during that time I will not be posting.
You guys can just NPC me for that weekend. I wanted to give ya like a weeks notice so you know whats going on :)
Thanks in advance :D Having a blast! :D
| Heavy Harry |
Coveniently or inconveniently depending on how you think about it I also won't be here from the 13th to the 15th. Going to Alsace in France to hurtle down a mountain road on a plank of wood with some wheels on.
I will also be away from the 13th-15th, off into mountain country :) Right now the temp there is 4c on its way to a -1 low. Last year we went there at this time and it hit -8 overnight, the worst was a cold snap the year before that hit -17c. Next weekend is going to suck and blow at the same time.
Alsace sounds like a better idea :)
