Hi all,
I'm attending my first GenCon this year, coming from Australia,I'd love to play my first ever Pathfinder game,I see quite a lot of sessions on the hiprogrammer site.
Would I book a 1-5 level session and just rock up with my dice or are ther some prerequisites I need to do first?

Are there going to be new player friendly sessions I guess I'm asking,I played a little bit of 3.5 back in the day.
Any advice more than welcome

I'm only responding so you know your fellow Aussies care =P

They're definitely a bit sparse on the information about specific events aren't they? I guess you can not worry about the whole "New player" thing. It's more a 'people' thing, depends on the group. You might want to pick up a copy of the Core Rulebook or a pre-gen character so you don't rock up and spend your first two hours in character creation.

From the looks of the site, specific events will be planned, DM's volunteer etc? If there's no contact details to ask the table DM then maybe ask if other people from the forums are going and want to meet up with a Melbournite for the event - that way they're already prepared to help you find your feet and can provide the table with their experience. Last but not least, aren't there contact details there for you to contact the organisers - surely they'd know how it works.

Sounds fun though I'm amused that an Aussie is flying to Indiannopolis for the US GenCon when we have our own...oh wait, they cancelled it! :P
