St Milani and the Nine trials of Fire (my fellow players stay out please)

Serpent's Skull

Liberty's Edge

Say, I am currently playing in a Serpent Skull campaign a female half-elf Inquisitor of St Milani, the goddess of freedom and revolution, and deliverance from tyrant .... and ... and ...

Well anyhow, in our group the "Half-Pack" there is this other player playing that CUTE Half-elf druid, who is also a nonconformist rebel.

Sounds like a good match right ?

Right, Except I am a woman of religion and principles. Nothing before marriage. So I decided on the fly that my sweetheart has to beat the nine trials of Milani, but I am short on ideas so far, and how to justify them (not much has been published on Milani).

So far, his first trial will be to bring me a blood red rose (or any equivalent flower of the proper hue since roses don't grow in the jungle). Likely our evil DM will make it some kind of plant monster ....

So What should be the eight others ?

(if Nine is too much, I'd settle for Six)

who the heck is st milani

Sovereign Court

St Milani was first mentioned in Gods and Magic, had an article in Wayfinder #2, and in the Faiths of Purity.

Basically she is a saint of Aroden ascended to godhood, much like Iomedae, but with a different portfolio and much less followers.

Quoted from faiths of Purity "She is the goddess of revolutionaries and partisans, people who struggle to lift the boots of tyrants from thier throats".

Basically, in agreement with my friend playing the half-elf druid, as part of his courting my character, he must pass 9 (or maybe six) tests, which if we were in Andoran would be trivial, but are going to be much more deadly while in the Mwangi area.

hence the example of test 1 : find me a rose which will likely become a fight vs Plant-zilla.

And I need ideas for this to be fun to all.

Liberty's Edge

Oh, and make it bloody.

I am already missing my beloved Galt, and things are not quite dangerous enough here :)

One should be to free a group of people from oppression, with the more people free, the more honor gained by his action.

One should be to fight a devil, a manifestation of tyranny.

Just think of things St. Milani maybe had to do, out of a legend, and kind of paint out the 9 things she did before ascending to godhood.

Liberty's Edge

good ideas !

I will take them both.

Other ideas I had was a flight challenge where he has to outrun some kind of monster, and maybe a hiding challenge, where he has to hide from opponents looking for him.

But the particulars are escaping me at the moment.

I like the Idea where the character tanks St. Milani for being a false god and goes green and joins the druids faith!

Ah, ah no : too much fun here.

Then again, I'd also lose my Inquisitor powers, and that would not be cool.

and then I think that Milani may be a really good fit for this region, given the background of Sargava.

Oh you could just be an inquisitor of nature and be like a over zealous druid and chase people around and hunt them down for defiling the forest!

That sounds like fun! Besides wouldn't you do anything for your betrothed??

Liberty's Edge

Could work yes, but probably not my choice.

The character choice was made just after watching "once upon a time the revolution" with the music from sergio leone, and at first I wanted to multiclass as an alchemist. Blow stuff up and all that. Instead, I have chosen to multiclass as rogue, and be the quickest girl around (lvl 3 = + 13 Init ...).

Then again, being French, playing a revolutionary allows me to poke some fun at some our political parties and do imitations of the most insane party leaders.

I also considered having him pass the tests, and if he gets badly injured, jump in to rescue him, heal him, and waive the rest of the tests, because I can't bear to see him injured. After all, I'm still chaotic good, despite all the slur coming from Black Raven's gnomette.
