The timeline of the the boat trip. (possible spoilers)

Serpent's Skull

So here's the thing I can't seem to grok the timeline of the the boat trip. I get that the trip itself is like 73 days, plus 31 days in various ports for a total of 104 days if I read it correctly, but what is the actual breakdown of time? I mean x days/weeks from point a to be then x days at port, then x days/weeks at sea to x place etc.
Thanks

It's not explicitly written out anywhere but, to be frank, it doesn't matter how the 31 days "downtime" are distributed among the stops and you can do that freely as you like.

Well I was wondering the amount of time it takes from each stop so I can track how long various people are on the boat. I plan on introducing the pre wreck to each pc via online messaging in a kind of timeline and description of activities leading up to the first session, kind of a play by post roleplaying only pre adventure to get them to know the npcs and have a reason to care.

You could measure the distance from the first stop to the last on a map of Golarion and divide it by 71 days. That way you know how fast the ship travels on average per day and by measure the distances from port to port you can calculate (or at least estimate) the travel times yourself. Sorry if I can't help you more with that but I don't have access to the resources right now.

I had wondered the same thing myself - it seemed silly to me to tell one of the players, "You boarded the ship in Corentyn" and not be able to tell them how long they've been on the ship.

I measured some distances - very roughly - and divided the 71 days as best I could among those distances. Here's what I came up with.
Day 1: Depart Magnimar (Varisia) to travel >400 miles (8 days at sea)
Day 9: Arrive in Kintargo (Cheliax) - in port for 2 days
Day 11: Depart Kintargo to travel about 300 miles (6 days at sea)
Day 17: Arrive in Pezzack (Cheliax) - in port for 3 days
Day 20: Depart Pezzack to travel about 450 miles (9 days at sea)
Day 29: Arrive in Corentyn (Cheliax) - in port for 7 days
Day 36: Depart Corentyn to travel about 500 miles (10 days at sea)
Day 46: Arrive in Ilizmagorti (Mediogalti Island) - in port for 2 days
Day 48: Depart Ilizmagorti to travel about 700 miles (13 days at sea)
Day 61: Arrive in Ollo (The Shackles) - in port for 7 days
Day 68: Depart Ollo to travel 80 miles (2 days at sea)
Day 70: Arrive in Quent (The Shackles) - in port for 2 days
Day 72: Depart Quent to travel about 120 miles (2 days at sea)
Day 74: Arrive in Port Peril (The Shackles) - in port for 3 days
Day 77: Depart Port Peril to travel about 350 miles (7 days at sea)
Day 84: Arrive in Bloodcove (Mwangi Expanse) - in port for 4 days
Day 88: Depart Bloodcove to travel about 300 miles (6 days at sea)
Day 94: Arrive at Senghor (Mwangi Expanse) - in port for 3 days
Day 97: Depart Senghor to travel about 450 miles (8 days at sea)
Day 105: Expected arrival at Eleder (Sargava) (And will probably be scheduled for a longer maintenance stop here before embarking on the return journey.)

You are a saint among people, a true hero to the lazy and the not as smart! But in all seriousness, that is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks

Nah, I'm just Obsessive-Compulsive. (You should see the notes I wrote up for a village my PCs spent time in recently - complete with every household's family tree.)

Glad I could help!

Wow, I start working that way and tend to get distracted and never finish. I also second guess my work alot ><

Well, in the case of the family trees, it was actually all absolutely necessary information. The village had about 60 inhabitants, plus another 30 or so that had been turned into statues, and I needed to figure out who all the statues are.

That counts as necessary, right?

Right?

(And all so I could use those cool Navia Drapt minis as statues in a D&D scenario...)

...

Yeah. Simpler is definitely better sometimes.

That's Pretty Hardcore. I approve!
