New Blade: Trench Knife

Homebrew and House Rules

What do you guys think of my Trench Knife writeup?

Trench Knife Light Martial 1d4* 19-20 x2 B,S
*See text

"Trench Knife: Essentially a single-sided blade on a brass knuckle, the trench knife is a favorite among close quarters fighters, and are usually bought in pairs. Wielding a trench knife gives you a +2 bonus to your CMD against being disarmed. They allow you to deal lethal damage with unarmed attacks as well as being armed with a blade."

Very cool. I think the flavor text is a bit off. Bought in pairs is not really appropriate, but maybe saying the are made from bayonets would be more in line with the WWII variety.

Good stuff.

To emulate how my army buddies feel about them, you could add this:

Quick Draw
When worn openly, the trench knife can be drawn as a swift action.

"Trench Knife: Essentially a single-sided blade on a brass knuckle, the trench knife is a favorite among close quarters fighters. Sometimes, a crossbow bayonet is affixed to a brass knuckle to achieve the desired effect. Wielding a trench knife gives you a +2 bonus to your CMD against being disarmed. They allow you to deal lethal damage with unarmed attacks as well as being armed with a blade."

@cranewings: Not sure if I'd add that, as it's almost as good as having quick draw.

Lantern Lodge

I like the idea but I feel it should be B/P not B/S since the real world one is built for stabbing between ribcages not slashing at him.
