Looking for Serengeti

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

I am looking for a place appropriate to place a Serengeti-like grassy plain on Golarion, preferably in Garund. Any suggestions? Or am I "off the map" on this one?

M'neri Plains of Sargava? I'm just looking at a map now and not reading a description, but I believe that fits.

RPG Superstar 2013 Top 8

The M'neri Plains, as presented in Sargava: The Lost Colony and Racing to Ruin are absolutely fantasy-Serengeti. Which is pretty similar to the real world one, except for the gnolls, raptors, ankhegs, centaurs and (in my game) gorgons and bonnacons.

Thanks gentlemen!
That might work, though it seems a bit small to be like the endless plain of grass that is the Serengeti.

The area south of the Field of Maidens also seems appropriate.

IIRC, that's where Holomog is, with its African-Amazonian dinosaur riders. That apparently has a pretty good pirate population...

Which is pretty badass, really. :)

But yeah, that and a lot of South Garund should fit the bill perfectly!

I was gonna say, "thanks ladies!"

But I have no idea what you are, Mikaze, except for hilariously awesome (per your comments directed at Erik Mona in the threads about pugwampis - I was laughing so hard, tears were rolling down my face).

As for the location, I suspected that was the best spot, literally off of the map (or at least mine). The best spot for an Earth-equivalent East African Rift Valley system, Mount Kilimanjaro, and the Serengeti.

Good to know about the Amazonian dinosaur riders though, thanks Mikaze.

Silver Crusade

Damn my gender-confusing avatar and her infectious smile!

I'm not sure if the dinosaur bit made it into the Inner Sea Guide, but James Jacobs confirms it here.

Wayfinder #5 probably has some extra useful stuff for the Serengeti theme as well(btw Lilith, that was my favorite issue so far!).

Also, all pugwampis can burn in hell.

+infinity.

I want one for my witches Improved Familiar, with some sort of Selective Jink power so that it doesn't affect my allies.

But, oh no, that would be broken. :)

I can't help but fear this would lead to Pugwampi Escalation...

My God.

My suggestion? Repeatedly use the Forced Reincarnation Hex on each of your allies until they all come back as Gnolls.

BOOM! Problem solved! :D

Rechand's Plains to the S/SW of the Mwangi Jungle are also pretty appropriate for that feel.

Hmmm.... Looking at my map I see Lake Terwa, sounds (and looks) similar to Lake Turkana.

But what are the Ruins of Bloodsalt? Better yet, what material has Paizo put out that references these ruins?

Grand Lodge

It may not be what Paizo intended but since, regretably, there's hardly anything published one way or the other, I treat the vast expanse of Cheliax as quite serengeti-like or safari-like.

And there are no pugwampis in Cheliax thanks to House Thrune!

They're described in Heart of the Jungle. Possibly also on the pathfinder wiki.

As for the ruins and Lake Terwa and inspiration for them in part, think lake Nyos in Cameroon. >:)

O_o Indeed. A Meromictic crater lake with gassy magma beneath is a good reason to have a deserted ruin on the shores.

Thanks to all for the help!
