In another thread Mark Moreland posted:
There will be many outlets to get Pathfinder Society Quests and we're (obviously) not against spreading the net a little wider to show people who may not know about PFS what it's all about. For the time being, Ambush in Absalom is the only Quest, and thus requires access in digital or physical format to KQ #17, but we'll have them available other places, including paizo.com as we add to the number of resources for this additional PFS adventure series.
I'm curious as to what point the net gets too wide? How far before this starts making people uncomfortable?
I was thinking that going to KQ seemed a stretch, but then I remembered that Dragon/Dungeon on occaasion had valid Living Greyhawk information, so they're certainly not doing anything out of the ordinary.
For me, when organizing PFS becomes too much of a chore is when I'll stop. Spreading material out between too many sources is part of that. So is having too much to carry with you to run an event.
Keep in mind this is mainly just a mental excerise. I don't think we're even close to point where it becomes a real issue to anyone (that I know of).

Specific to this case, I don't really understand. Perhaps you are misunderstanding what is on offer in this case?
There is no rules crunch you'll need to keep track of. At any rate all non-Core Assumption material isn't your required responsibility to keep up with. This is a short adventure, demo, delve that can be (re)run as needed out of your GM toolbox. If you don't want to use/run it, nobody's going to make you =)

I'm speaking in a much wider generality.
This case is certainly small. To me its another step down the road of spreading yourself out, but its nowhere near the end of the line.

Personally, I think its about as wide as they ought to go right now. Theyve got 4 ways now of getting PFS material out there: Regular mods, novels, mini adventures(From KQ or elsewhere) and the ones like Godsmouth and Ebon Destroyers.
If they wanted to just expand on those four avenues and not grow into even more areas, I think itd be sufficient.

I think it'd be cool if there was an episodic PFS video game that you could feed it your character's stats and run. Maybe even something multiplayer(preferably even). The episodic part being there would be continued expansions/new adventures coming out to play.
This IMO would be friggin sweet and I could do when I'm not able to attend or scrape together players. Note, that this would not replace regular play.

I'm have high hopes we'll see a Pathfinder video game in the future. I wouldn't want to see PFS tied to it. That would be a stretch in my mind. (Though your idea is awesome)

While the specific means of getting a Quest may be different based on where we want to publish them (be that other industry magazines, or what have you) we currently have no plans to add any additional forms of adventures or Chronicles to the Pathfinder Society line.
We will continue to put out high quality adventures in the form of monthly scenarios available as pdf downloads on paizo.com.
We intend to sanction all future Pathfinder Modules for PFS play.
We plan to release more novel Chronicles in the coming weeks and months as well.
Finally, since there's a need for small mini-adventures to run at game stores, as demos, or as filler at larger events with scheduling gaps, we'll keep doing Quests, though where we release them and how often is going to greatly depend on how well-received "Ambush in Absalom" is among both KQ subscribers and Pathfinder Society players.
We recognize that throwing the net too wide isn't a wise choice, but don't feel we're currently spread too thin. If releasing a 2,000 word adventure in KQ once or twice a year gets more subscribers to that great magazine, awesome. If it also brings in more players to the campaign that may have never heard of it before, even better.

Fairly comforting to know you don't plan to spread any further. I agree that you aren't spread thin now depending on weher you publish the Quests, but some of us will become less interested in them if they appear in too many different locations.
While I agree that in some markets there was a need for the Quests, I can tell you they aren't here locally. They actually could cause more issues for me if I were to attempt to provide them. Which makes me sad as I would like to provide as much PFS as there is.
I'm interested in the future of PFS because I love the Organized Play venue and the game itself. I actively participate in 3 other Organized Play campaigns. I just worry PFS may get a bit 'too big for it's britches'.
