They do both seem to favor makeup and somewhat androgynous garb. Although Corellon didn't go through a goth phase, so far as I know. See, the "robbery of the elven messiah" theory works for me, because I had assumed Dovan's rationale was "I will take one outdated fashion accessory from each of my victims." Little else could explain his attire.
I dunno. Is the crescent moon relevant to either Nisroch or Caliphas? My friend and I have been drawing him a lot lately, and we had wondered.
What strange chain of events could lead to an obviously evil (though arguably sexy) dude like Dovan to be chosen my the Elfy God of Good Elfiness? Dohohohoho~! Corellon is typically depicted as fair-haired. Is this the reason Dovan has a mad-on for blonds?
Alright, so I think we're agreed that he robbed the buckle from the elven messiah, but is it having an effect on him? Is it responsible for his lust for golden tresses?
I think, "of course." Clearly he has been cursed for this heinous act, and his preferences for blonds and and presentation of an androgynous figure are only the beginning of his transformation into a die-hard elf lover. I think that next he will begin whittling his lovers' ears to fine point and develop some unusual new tastes regarding trees and woodland creatures.
And you know, the more I mention this guy, the more I want him to escape the camp and become a recurring character in my Kingmaker game. Hell, maybe I'll go ahead and play up this bizarre elf fetish.
