Hope this is okay to ask. Have been rubbings the serpents skull adventure path with the first four AP books lined up (and the 5th on it's way). My bro is running Second darkness with his friends and we're about to start Legacy of Fire at our local gaming club.
My questions this: is there a consolidated list of Monsters in the bestiary sections of the Adventure paths and other source books. I know most have been reprinted in the Bestiary I & II (which are amazing products), or refer to other books like Tome of Horrors or OGL Nyambe (both of which I have) and Fiend Folio (which my mate has).
I'm a big fan of reading monster ecologies from the old days of Dragon to the revisited line of Paizo products (which are awesome). Like all amateurs, after reading so many cool beasties from published authors, I figured I'd try my hand and get out my homebrew toolbox. Problem is I don't want to step on anyone toes, either legally or creatively.
Say for example I took an old monster and updated them or built a new one up from scratch only to discover someone else beat me to it. I'm a fan of the open gaming licence so any beasties I make I'd make available for people to test out in their own games. I'm currently digging the jungle themes and have been Reading up on south American and African mythology and cryptozoology (which arguably are the same thing).
So in summary does anyone know what monsters have already been updated to the pfrpg system? Specifically the last two chapters of serpents skull? And does anyone have any advice for a newbie looking to spread anything he comes up with?

You might want to check out www.d20pfsrd.com. There are quite a few of them that have been converted on there.

Yeah I use that site alot. But it doesn't seem to have the recent AP stuff on it.
Thing is, I got me 10-20 potential monsters to make but I don't to proceed until I know what the guys here at paizo have come up with. Got two weeks tile serpent skull chapter 5 arrives but it will be awhile before I can afford chapter 6.
Just want to know what jungle themed beasties are in the last two chapters, as I have a feeling that 8 of the ideas will have already been done. Don't want to stat something up only to find Paizo's done it already and better.

So Pathfinder #37 contains the Bestiary entries on...
* Eurypterids:
Ochre (CR1/3), Crimson (CR1), Bluetipped ( CR5) & Spitting (CR9)
* Sea Urchins:
Giant (CR1), Hunter (CR4), Glass (CR6) & Terrain entry
* Ningyo:
Living + undead variants
* Pterosaur:
Rhamphonrynchus (CR1/3), Dimorphodon (CR1), Quetzacoatlus (CR7)
One of my ideas was to apply the advanced template to the quetzacoatlus or the advanced and giant template to the pterosaur to make the mythical 'Kongamata'. Or breaker of boats. A nice winged threat for trips up river in the expanse.

Kongamato is in #42 Sanctum of the Serpent God (Part 6)
It is a CR15 Dragon.| Oggron |
Pathfinder #38: Racing to ruin has lots of new beasties
* Adaro
(my current fav monster. Much better than the version published by pinnacle games)
* Bloodhaze Mosquito Swarm
plus notes on other diseased swarms
* Biloko
Variant Eloko (tropical spriggan) also shown in the book
* Charau-ka
The proper entry is in #39 but the stats are here
*Personification of fury
Herald of Gozreh. Less a monster, more a force of nature

Ah I figured they'd snap that one up. I look forward to Reading what they've done with it. What other beasties are in #42?

edit: #38 also contains the Chemosit or Nandi bear
Btw Heart of the Jungle is an amazing book. I've really enjoyed seeing the beasties mentioned in that appear in the Serpents skull adventure path. For those running this campaign, it's a good place to get the world info you need to bring your game to life.
It's bestiary is rather small. With Hippo's, their Dire cousins, giant mosquito's, biting swarms all being reprinted in the Bestiary ||. Not so much for the 'High Gorillon'.
Another one I was thinking of doing was the 'Deinotherium' hope (that's it name...)
or something cool along those lines. Incidentally has anyone watched the 'Walking with' set of tv shows from the BBC? Lots of cool potential monsters there...

Cheers for the info. Ah the Grootslang. I figured that one would come up. A herald of Ydersius and giant undead snakes also sound like cool monsters.
Out of Curiosity what's a Baregara? It doesn't crop up in my research notes.Do you perchance know what's in #41? Cos that's still leaving me with 18 ideas thus far.

It's an Apelike Outsider. A minion of Angazhan, Demon Lord of the Girallon/Apes.

Arcanotheign (CR15 Hearld of Nethys)
Inkanyamba (CR13 Gargantuan Snake-like Creature)Lukwata (CR11 Huge Fish Monster)
Umdhlebi (CR12 Plant Monster)

Darn. All three of those mythical beasties were on my list.
Still, Herald of Nethys? Hellz yeah.
Well that narrows me down to 10 ideas for new beasties and 10 ideas for jungle variants.
Out of curiosity, has anyone actually made an Aswang yet? Their Vampires of the philipine islands. They get a mention in 'Classic Horrors revisited' as being present in the expanse but no stats.
And is there a Pleisiosaur statblock out there? Cos I'm thinking of making Ogopogo.
These are the two I'm worried about.

There's an elasmosaurus in the main Bestiary; you can "fake" a pleisosaurus by putting the Young creature template on an elasmosaurus.
THAT SAID... if you're looking for Ogopogos, you should check out the water orm in Bestiary 2; it's a freshwater version of the sea serpent, and it's very much intended to play the role of things like Ogopogo and the Loch Ness Monster. It even has magical abilities that help it hide from being sighted and explains how it can get from one lake to another without being seen.

If a list of purely what monsters have been in which bestiaries, with some general vitals included, would be helpful, check out the Monster Index over at the Pathfinder Wiki. It looks like it's current up through PF #43.
As for stepping on toes legally, you might want to shy away from redoing or reposting anything newly invented for Golarion or the PFRGP. That might sound like a lot, but soooooo many of our monsters draw from myth and folklore that there'd be no problem with you doing up and posting your own take on an ankou or aspidochelone or any one of a hundred other creatures drawn straight from legendry.
That said, do make sure they're different, it wouldn't do to have anyone think you just reposted our material with the serial numbers filed off. Coming up with cool new special abilities is the easiest way to make sure there's no confusion. (It really shouldn't be too much of a problem though, so don't stress too much over it.) In general, though, real world monsters are totally fair game, and there's a TON of them. If you don't have a library of folklore and encyclopedias of world mythology, I'd suggest checking out some of the lists on Wikipedia related to monsters, mythemes, and legendary creatures. There's some real fertile ground out there.
And be sure to come back and show up what you come up with! I'm always looking for new monster designers who can show they've got some chops.
