Bokken turns to Simon Now your talking. You can come in. Indicating Simon by pointing with the wand. The rest can wait outside.

Nefi Lalagos |

"Also I'd like to take a look at your alchemy set. I'm curious what acids and other materials you might've been able to create and what herbs you might've found out here in the Stolen Lands." she smiles, hoping to get a look at whatever chemicals he might've been able to create due to the strange and unique plants out here.
Pavel shrugs, dismounting anyway. He stretches his legs and takes the opportunity to check on the horses, making sure their shoes are free of pebbles and the packs are secure and not chafing the beasts.
"Yuh'you guys ever seen a muh'manticore?",he asks.
"A Manticore?" she pauses as she things for a moment, wondering if she ever heard of such a thing, but shakes her head as she can't quite recall the creature. "Sorry, don't think I've heard of it."

"Like calling you a wizard would be an insult...better than being a creepy old guy in a crummy shack. Oh sure, I'll just wait out here. Didn't want in your smelly old hut anyway," mutters Krebak.
Knowledge(arcana):1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
"Manticores? Why would you want to see one? They'd just as soon kill you as look at you. I've seen them in books, and once on some snooty nobles coat of arms..."
Krebak stops for a moment and gets a strange look on his face, before scanning the nearby undergrowth and the skies.
"Um, why do you ask? Are there supposed to be manticores around here?"

Nefi Lalagos |

"Sure, we could duh'double check our distances."
He scratches the back of his neck sheepishly.
"Ah'and it's just 'Pavel', nuh'no 'r'."
"Oh, sorry." she smiles shyly when saying this and then points to a random area. "Have we...err...checked this area well enough?"
Thought we'd do something as the DM didn't tell us if our check successfully mapped out the area or not and gives us time for character development.

Would you both like some help?

Pavel |

"Nuh'not much to check over. It's all guh'guess work at this point. We know there's a vuh'vast forest here to the southwest wuh'with swampland and some lakes. To the suh'southeast here are fuh'forested hills."
He runs a hand through his tangled hair.
"Thuh'there's been other expeditions into the Gruh'Greenbelt before but, uh... th'they didn't finish the job. Nuh'not much more specific information as a ruh'result. We got our wuh'work cut out for us "

As Simon continues his negotiations with Bokken the group notices a group traveling towards the hut from the south. This hex is explored. A perception check will allow more information to be gathered from the approaching group.

"You'll have to hold that thought...I see a group approching." she looks over into the distance, her razor sharp vision used only for the crafting of alchemy somehow manages to make her able to see what's approching with great detail.

Nefi forwards the spoiler tag of perception 20 or better, just in case.
"There are a bunch of them coming this way. Seven people, six animals in total. Three of the men are on hourse back and followed by four men on foot and three mules loaded qith equipment." she pauses as she tries to get more detail. The lead rider must be the one in charge. He's carrying a unusual crossbow in his hands and is wearing a breast plate. The second rider has a spear that flies with a crest of a white swan serenely sailing across a blue expanse. Raised on the crossbar of his weapon and wearing a chain shirt. All os them appear to be armed with the same unusual spears with a spiraling blade and crossbar, all wearing chain shirts." Nefi makes sure to get her ingredients ready in case she wishes to throw a bomb if they are in danger.

Simon Bornen |

Simon will exist from the hut and looks around . Must be a mercenary company then . Bokken has two potions of healing 50 gp apiece to sell . He has also potions who allows one protection agains hot or cold. He has also a quest for us and would lowers his price but there is no hurry. I also got a partial map from him

Nefi Lalagos |

"Too rich for my blood. You should tell us about this quest, after we find out if these guys are here to talk or try to kill us."
"If they try anything...boom." she exclaims with a smirk, pointing to her equipment and prepared for any offensive actions. Anything happens she'll be prepared and throw a bomb.

The group continues to move up to the hut with a slow but deliberate progress as they approach you can tell the group has taken notice of you as their formation changes with the four foot soldiers moving to a position in front of the riders giving up the leads to their mules to the trailing soldier riding on horse back he lets the others get a decent lead on him such that he is over a 100 feet from the rest of the group. a short bow now in his hands. They finally stop some 60 feet from your group.
Your group will have plenty of time to make any tactical adjustments before they make it to you, anything you could do in about 5 to 10 mins is possible. The initiative is set if the encounter turns into a fight. Dortlin and Finneous your connections to nobility allow you to make an Intelligence check DC 15 to recognize the standard. Unless you are related to the Lebeda nobility Dortlin. If that is the case you automatically know the standard.

Krebak |

Krebak notes their change in formation, and mutters a few words, making an intricate gesture and waving a hand in front of him. A shimmering aura surrounds him briefly, then fades. Casting mage armor.
"I'm guessing those spears will work on long pig just as well as boar. Best be ready just in case they aren't picky about what they hunt."

Nefi Lalagos |

Nefi is cautious and draws out a vial she has prepared earlier that day, drinking it instantly and a disc flickers into existance for a moment before dissappearing.
"Say the word and I'll set them on fire." Nefi says seriously, keeping her hands by her alchemical equipment in case something bad.
I assume as they have noticed us they'll be here in less than 10 rounds (1 minute) so the extract will be up. It's effectively a shield spell so +4 shield bonus and immune to magic missiles.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Nefi smirks as she notices Krebak's spell.
"If we survive this, you can copy my shield spell into your book." she looks back at the group, making sure that if an attack happens she will throw a bomb at the group as they appear to be clustered together for the moment.
Don't know Krebak's spells in his book in character, though unfortunatly she can't learn mage armor, but can various other spells. Having a look at your profile none the alchemist can learn.

The person that seems to be in charge and the standard bearer have a whispered conversation before the standard bearer walks his horse forward beyond the semi circle of guards I am Vor squire to Baron Theodric Lebeda if you are under charter I would ask to see proof of your claim. The baron also requests for you to give ground so that his man may be tended to if you are as you claim dutiful agents to the crown.

Finneous will quietly relay that information to whomever is closest to him.

Narrater |

Vor considers Simon as he exits the hut answering his question. It is a illness that feeds on the flesh leaving a putrid ichor in its place. Now if you would be kind enough to answer mine do you give ground so my lords men may secure this area for his safety. A distance of 200 to 300 paces from the hut would be an acceptable distance while my lord conducts his business or until you have been properly vetted and your claim of service to the crown can be verified.
So you fully understand the situation Vor has not entered far enough into the groups area for you to step aside Simon he has not left his horse he has moved only far enough to make his voice heard by the group with out yelling. He is positioned such that he would be able to spur his horse and escape if attacked.

Pavel |

Neither Simon or I have our charter on our sheet, so I'm just gonna say Pavel had it to keep things rolling.
Pavel roots around in a belt pouch until he finds a folded up sheet of paper. He unfolds it, making sure the seal is still intact. he holds it up.
"Huh'Here's our charter. Yuh'you wanna muh'meet halfway, yuh'you and I and then you can ruh'read it?"

Simon Bornen |

This can wait . Let's us withdraw so their companion can be healed. We'll talk after .
Simon join parole to action but once the group has retreated
Am I the only one thinking we should investigate what they are doing here out of Brevoy and how their companion was hurt ?

Narrater |

Vor moves his horse to meet Pavel at the half way point he takes up the charter and exams it in detail before giving a hand signal to the others. Everything appears to be in order. The men relax their stance and move in with Lord Theodric who signals the horseman with the bow waiting at range causing him to spur his horse toward the hut as well. If you wait a moment while we have the guardsman looked at I am sure Lord Theodric would be interested in speaking with you. He has been forced to end his hunt prematurely due to this incident but I am sure he is still looking to add to his collection of trophies but I will let my Lord talk to you about it. The guardsman take the supply mules and tether them together with the horses as they help the rider who had been holding back earlier from his horse. Bokken seems to recognize the group and allows them entry immediately you see him direct the men to lay the wounded guardsman at his table before the door is closed leaving you to wonder what treatment the mad hermit plans to perform. Lord Theodric exits the hut nearly an hour later he looks among your group and approaches Simon once he catches sight of him. He speaks in a even and unhurried tone Do you speak for your company warrior? If not please direct me to your leader so I may do a bit of business with him.

Narrater |

Vor has reviewed your charter and vouches for you so I accept your claim. He mentioned that it was the sword lords of restov that specifically wrote up the charter so you are working for the crown even if it is through a backwater of Brevoy You can hear some disdain in his voice when he speaks of the Sword Lords and Restov. What they are planning is of small consequence to me. I am sure I will find out in due time but I have more immediate needs that you can help with that will have little impact on your current obligations and pays a sizable reward to your group if successful. I have heard of beasts that roam these lands that are long distant kin to dragons they are a rare sight and are known to be fearsome they are called tatzlwyrms. I wish to have one mounted in my hall. From what I am told they are generally solitary creature unless you come upon a mated pair. Such a catch would mean a significant bonus to you and your group all I ask is that you spare the head of any such beast that you encounter. I will retain the services of Oleg to act as intermediary if you are successful speak to him and he will make the necessary arrangments. You do know of the trading post and its proprietor I assume?

Narrater |

Krebak raises an eyebrow at the mention of the Tatzlwyrm, and takes a moment to recall what he knows of such creatures. Knowledge(arcana) Roll: 1d20+7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Simon Bornen |

We do indeed know of Oleg's post. We will discuss your offer , sir but I most say that as a follower of Erastil , I find it a trifle offensive . Might I respectfully suggest that if we find the location of such beast, we 'll report it to you instead so the glory of the trophy is righfully yours.
Simon will do his best there to convey the minimal offense possible in his tone but is quite aware that the lord might be offended by his words still saying to a follower of Erastil you want to mount a hunt trophy in your hall you bought ...

Narrater |

Lord Theodric eyes become steely. So will I offend your other traveling companions with such an offer if not then I am obviously speaking with the wrong person. turning from Simon he points to Pavel You sir are you adverse to killing a dangerous predator and saving the head so that it may be mounted.
