Damnit, Howl's Moving Castle is one of my favorite books, It's as well thumbed as Eddings' and Pratchett's books are.

It's a great book, and a fun movie! But if you read the book, bear in mind that the movie's tone and portions of the plot were heavily modified to fit the Miyazaki mold (not better or worse, just different).
