What's the general consensus on these, back when they were coming out for the five faction countries(Osirion, Taldor, etc.)?
Specifically, the portions that dealt with sites within those nations and offered small, sometimes-vague/sometimes-not descriptions and adventure hooks.
Players, did you find them useful in terms of inspiration for your characters? For getting into the feel of the setting?
GMs, did it worry you over much for players to be exposed to such location detail that you may have wanted to keep secret or change without confusing the players' expectations? Would you have preferred such descriptions to be more vague and uncertain, or not present at all? Or were you happy with them as they were?
The same questions could apply to the Persona sections as well.
GMs: Would you be open to this section remaining in a player's guide if it were meant to offer a sample NPC available to inspire the players and be written into their backgrounds?
Players: What would you find useful in a Persona section, ideally speaking?
