Hello Paizoians!
The subject/title pretty much says it all. (Although I'm not sure when I'll get around to this, I've been pondering it a bit lately).
For those not in the "know" the adventure "Barrow of the Forgotten King" is the first in a three module arc written for the v.3.5 edition of D&D and was setting or world neutral and was intended for 4 - 6 characters of 2nd level, and I think it could take the PCs to 5th level by the conclusion. I have all three modules and only got to DM/GM the first part, and not to its conclusion (if memory serves there was a TPK for lack of a cleric... I think that was the cause anyway).
I've recently purchased the "Slumbering Tsar" adventure series from Frog God Games and have read/skimmed over most of the parts. I really like what Greg Vaughn has accomplished with these adventures so far.
I had to stop a high level (18th level +) campaign of mine recently (but I still have my Sunday Kingmaker group), however I think I'm looking at starting another game, if I can, and I'd like it to be Slumbering Tsar (but that's for 7th level characters, I'd rather start out with 1st or 2nd level characters and build up to ST).
My setting of choice nowadays is Golarion, and I think "Barrow of the Forgotten King" would fit pretty well into the Mendev region of Avistan. (I've chosen Mendev because it's close to the World Wound/Ruins of Sarkoris and I think ST would fit/work out in that region rather well).
I'd alter or outright change the monsters/NPCs as needed to better fit into Golarion for example and "spoiler alert"
But I was wondering what anyone here might think of using BotFK as an "intro" for ST. (By the way... since ST is for 7th level characters I'd likely use part two "The Sinister Spire" as well... possibly even the final part of the trilogy... "Temple of the Yuan-Ti" (with a name change of course) if the PCs needed the XP to be "on target" for part 1 of ST: The Desolation). I remember reading somewhere on the 'boards that someone (possibly Greg Vaughn himself) thought that Mendev or the Worldwound might be suitable regions to place ST in Golarion.
This is mostly a ramble, but any comments, insights, or even questions are welcome. I usually check in on the Paizo site daily (or every other day). I'm not even sure I'll get around to this any time soon. But the idea intrigues me.
Thanks in advance.

Just a "bump" to see if anyone has any thoughts on this. (Although I have gotten a great suggestion from Greg Vaughn in the Frog God Games ToHC (Tome of Horrors Complete) discussion thread).
I'm no where near ready to do this yet, I need to have a freelance project complete by about June 1st, so starting up a second game now would be foolhardy in the extreme. :P
But... having said all that... I'm still thinking about it. ;)

Hey Dean = out of curiousity was this going to be a potential pbp on the boards or a "real game"?
Know very little about either [other than anecdotal stuff off the boards] "Barrow of the Forgotten King" piqued my interest when it came out, and I loved the concept of the aforementioned monsters... Sounds a potentially very interesting combo though!

Hi there.
While I might be tempted to try this as a pbp... I have little to no skill with GMing pbps... so if/when I get around to it, it would be a real game.
But, Black Dow... thanks for the "nod" in my direction.
I might have some spare time in about 3 months or so... maybe I'll be able to give it more thought then. ;)

Well,
I have submitted the Psionic Bestiary manuscript to Jeremy Smith @ DSP (actually have done this about a week ago) and once again my thoughts turn back towards this possibility. (Although my Kingmaker weekly game does make regular demands of my time...) :P one of my players made a good suggestion about doing the "Kingdom Building phases" as pbp over at rpol dot net(?) (At least that's what I think he suggested, good thing I saved the email for reference). ;)
Having said all that, it's still something I consider/think about. (Although I also think about starting up an Eberron game using the PF rules, but the Eberron setting).
Ugh! So many ideas, so little time.
I guess I posted this "rant" to see if anyone else had thoughts or comments on this idea of mine.
