New feat idea: movement

Homebrew and House Rules

I have an idea for a combat feat, it may be a little OP, but considering the prerequisites I don’t think it's too OP.

Flash Step (Combat)
Prerequisite: Fast movement class ability or fleet; Acrobatics 10 ranks
Benefit: For every 10’ extra movement above your racial norm, you may add 5’ to a 5’ step free action. EX: Barbarian fast movement ability at level 1 would give a total of 10’ free action step.

What are people’s thoughts?

I wouldn't allow it. The 5' move is when you're not trying to move. That's the equivalent of shifting your weight twice since, in combat, your stance is wider and shifting from one foot to another is about half your body length.

The movement feats and class abilities however, are about putting effort into moving. It's like saying that, because you can sprint faster, you can double the breadth of your stance. And if you're using Acrobatics, it's not simple shifting.

my inspiration for this is from watching too much anime. the guys that move fast enough to look like they teleport right next to you in less than a second, but it was in fact them running.

Check out the skirmisher ranger chameleon step.

Maybe something like this?

Swift Step
Prerequisite: 11 ranks in Acrobatics, Step Up.
Benefit: As a swift action, you may move one quarter your base speed (rounded down).

Thus, most characters could take a 5 foot step (for free, or non-action), and spend a swift action to move 5 more feet. Barbarians, 3rd level monks, druids with longstrider, etc., who have a base speed of 40 feet would get to move 10 feet as a swift action; high level monks and those under the effects of expeditious retreat or haste (enhanced speed of 60 feet) could move 15 feet as a swift action.

EDIT:

Maybe add Dodge, Mobility, and possibly Spring Attack to the requirements.

I think nimble moves or acrobatic step is the better prereq
